Last words on the 2nd easter egg video.... Would be cool to see one server with that possibility for the more hardcore players and not for the casual crowd. I think they are trying to reach to favor all of the player types out there... should be fun to see future information...

well honestly think about it. (think of it in D2 or D3 hardcore terms)
1. there are no levels only gear tiers
2. the world is ALWAYS changing and never the same
3. there are no skill based systems
4. it will make death mean something again like alot of people wanted
5. if ANY MMO could pull off permadeath with exciting new playability, it would be this game
thats why the would have multiple server types, like original EQ did
who knows? for now its only a tease or a joke

Are considering different ruleset servers such as a hardcore server. Nothing decided.
Death penalty not decided (related to ruleset servers).

Since EQN will thankfully be multiple servers instead of one crappy overrated "mega(instancing)server" I don't at all doubt we'll see perma death servers, also from what I've seen so far the overall design of eqn would lend itself quite well to such a server.
I just hope the overall death penalty on normal servers will also sting, tired of meaningless deaths.
It does sound like they could pull it off without it being as much of a chore as it would be in traditional games. As long as it's kept to it's own server, i'm all for it.
Permadeath is a perpetual joke they keep making. But it's just not going to happen. No mainstream game will ever do that to themselves.
There's more vertical progression that they seem to be calling by another name. There are tiers in each class that you build up as well as attributes that you can build over time not to mention just the acquisition of classes. So to say there are "no levels" or "skill based systems" isn't entirely accurate. Though we definitely need more information on this subject.
If its on its own server i dont know how it could effect many people. It will only affect the hardcore players
SOE already tried Perma-Death in SWG with the Jedi didnt go over to well. Then they tried to make a whole MMO based on the concept in the failure known as Wizardy Online. 2 failures with the concept I highly doubt they will try for a 3rd.
"Possibly we humans can exist without actually having to fight. But many of us have chosen to fight. For what reason? To protect something? Protect what? Ourselves? The future? If we kill people to protect ourselves and this future, then what sort of future is it, and what will we have become? There is no future for those who have died. And what of those who did the killing? Is happiness to be found in a future that is grasped with blood stained hands? Is that the truth?"
perma death is easy to do if yu can delete and start a new character just delete yur character when he/she dies n hey presto yu got yur precious perma death but thtd b nice makin a server w perma death 2 compare which server will b more populated
It'd be a seperate server people. Read the OP, jeeze.
I think it'd be a great idea, I'd personally join in. This is really the only MMO that I can see it working with.
Whenever i step outside, somebody claims to see the light
It seems to me that all of us have lost our patience.
'cause everyone thinks they're right,
And nobody thinks that there just might
Be more than one road to our final destination--
SoE didn't make Wizardry, they just published it. And the death system was the least of Wizardrys problems.
Plus permadeath is Wizardry Online is pretty weaksauce. You have to die many, many times before you're actually permadead.
Nobody is saying "EQN is going to be a permadeath MMO." That'd be silly. But I have a hunch they're considering a permadeath server.
