I personally like Squats as the other abhumans (Ogryn (the best for me), Beastman, Ratling), but they are been erased from 40k lore, so i dont think that will be in W40K EC.
Howether i agree with you, i would to see Squats back.

"The story went that the Squat race had been virtually destroyed, and the few remaining Homeworlds were annexed by the Imperium over the hundreds of years after the attacks. Only a few scattered and embittered remnants of Squats survive throughout the Imperium. Currently however Games Workshop have taken the stance that the Squats never existed - older republished novels have been edited to remove all references of Squats. In other cases books have not been republished due to the stories featuring Squat characters or other obsolete races. However, the Warhammer 40,000 6th Edition Rulebook explicitly names them as an abhuman race officially recognized by the Imperium"

Yes i think that is very difficult too...but do you like Squats or not? Do you want that this abhuman will be back in the lore or not?

hm they could be kinda cool like dwarfs are in fantasy games
but they would need to be very unique with own weapon and armorstyle so they could act as an own faction

It'd be hard to include a race (what was remaining) that were wiped out by the tyrannids years ago in whiteDwarf (gw) timeline. Hell yarrick was probably a young officer

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle found a way for Sherlock Holmes to survive that drop off Reichenbach Falls. Games Workshop can work the same magic for the Squats. Have someone explore the suns of Warvan and find Grab'thar's Hammer. The lore writes itself.
well there will still exist some squads anywhere in the universe but GW dont want them to come back so we will have no chance for that^^

I would love to see squats return as a Tau allied race since their last lore was "Near extinct due to Tyranids, some fringe worlds" lol. I can see them being like F the Imperium they left us for dead, and then the Tau come in to save them in the name of the "Greater Good" offering them a place in their empire.
Realistically though, I dont see squats making a return, GW is very prickly.

Oh how I would love to see Squats return to the Warhammer universe!
I had heard that at one point mentioning Squats would get you banned from Games Workshop stores due to the arguments it caused.
It would cause quite the stir if WH40K Eternal Crusade brought them back.
