Never followed Marvel. Will this game still apeal to me?

I feel like I am missing a lot of back story and won't be able to fully connect with this game since I never really followed Marvel commic/cartoon.  Is this a true assumption or back story doesn't matter?

Now Playing: DARKFALL Unholy Wars "Return to Open World, Full Loot PvP, Conquest in a Sandbox MMO with player driven economy! Just like classic MMOs!"

    The back story does not really matter. The game is more or less a Diablo reskin with marvel characters. However, i play this game mostly because i *like* marvel characters. They did a good job in the likeness/appearance, and power set of the heroes.

    However, if you take that away, it is just a ok ARPG, which needs some additional polish.

    So the bottomline is that you will enjoy this a lot more if you like marvel characters. If not, there are other more polished (like D3) ARPG to play.
