Arcanist can be a Summoner and a Scholar, you can be a healer and you would already know the skills from Arcanist.

I don't know, Dragoon is freakin awesome and all but have you seen the limit skill? All of the sudden from speak you use a buster sword, which killed Dragoon image for me.

All melee DPS have the same limit break.
All ranged DPS have the same limit break.
Both Healers have the same limit break.
Both Tanks have the same limit break.
So that is why you use a buster sword, because Monk does too, and one day, so will Dark Knight.

Yeah I've saw the limit break with a Dragoon, I don't mind it one bit.
Dragoon being popular doesn't come as a surprise to me - between the general popularity of the classic motif, the general popularity of melee dps as a role, and Dragoon's relatively streamlined, mechanics that make it easier to do well with when compared with the frenetic Monk...

I hope you are trolling.... Please tell me you are trolling. Go do a search on youtube for the limit breaks. The Monk limit break is NOT a buster sword. It is a dash punch that then leads to a big explosion...just go watch the video. Different jobs have different limit breaks.

Though I can't say whether monk uses a 'buster sword' for them - I didn't get a close enough look in beta to see what the animation was for them. The monk in the youtube videos is using 'Final Heaven', a level 3 damage dealer limit break.
Also, this info separates it into 'caster' and 'damage dealer' roles - I don't know where the archer falls here, perhaps under caster.

Ahh gotcha, thanks for clearing it up for me. I had thought that different roles had different limit breaks due to this video
After watching videos on every class and job, I can't decide on wheather I want to be a bard or a black mage.... I like Archer better than Thermatauge, but Black Mage a tad better than bard!!!
Scholar sounds cool because it reminds me a little of disc priest in wow (one of my favorite classes). Monk has a more complex combat system which sounds appealing. Summoner sounds cool because i can see SE adding new summons in patches and new quest lines to unlock them. Bard sounds cool just because a straight buffer/debuffer class is typically fun to play in a group. Paladin sounds tempting just because you will always find a group in a matter of seconds.

Lol, at least it isn't leading by miles
There is definitely an interesting balance.

It's because all the maligned dragoons from ffxi are returning hoping their job isn't a joke this time around.

In a world of sharp knives, you would be a spoon.
SexuaLobster's Grease Portal
I'm still going Dragoon - even though it looks to be super popular.
After that maybe Warrior.

Laughing-man is correct, actually - the limit breaks are based on role, not on job. http://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Limit_Break#Tank_Limit_Breaks

Since playing tank in RIFT , I think I will go tank in this as well . Paladin all the way .
