New content in an old game is great and all, but everyone who's played it for years I'm sure will explore the new stuff for a month or so, get bored of it and continue looking for a new game. Sure, diehard wow fans will be plenty happy and thats fine as they deserve new content....thats their game, but to call a patch something to compete with a new game doesnt seem like a fair comparison.....I dont see what your getting at.

That's for people who lack the ability to fully entertain themself and take advantage of all what the game will offer. WOW is the only MMORPG I can think of that will do a better job in what you said and actually keep me from getting bored after a month and hop on to a new game.

For the first run, WoW has some pretty good staying power. I would say 6 months to a year is pretty doable. However, when you've done it all before and go back, you probably won't get a whole lot more than 1-3 months of entertainment out of it before you start finding yourself bored with the game. This step of the story line looks entertaining. However, the gameplay will be no different than it was before.

Hey, I'm not bashing the game....I've played it for many years. Recently though when I re-sub I play for a few weeks and I'm over it. The same happens when a new expansion or patch comes out. Yes the new content is fun to play, but truthfully after all these years....its just more of the same....to me.
I'm not bashing the game, so dont get all worked up. For someone whoes OVER the game, this isnt going to bring them back full time, unless they just dont like anything else out there. I want something different now, a new patch isnt going to fulfill me. I want a different game, its time for a different game...thats all it comes down to!
