    I think the update you are talking about is the animal repopulation patch which in my opinion did nothing to really get more people wanting to do anything. He did fix/help some issues but mostly it doesnt improve the game much.

     

    I know it sounds like I'm just bashing the game but what can I say its my opinion on what is going on.

    Here are a few of the things it does fix.

    Slows down animals so they are not on crack as much when you chase/fight them.

    Rebalanced their HP/DMG to help players that are new and smaller groups.

    Animals are more based on danger areas instead of as mixed up. (Weaker ones near the lake, stronger ones near the mist, sorta/mostly).
