Character Transfers

in Final Fantasy XIV

1) Any news on character transfers? 

2) Also, if a character is created on a specific server, if deleted, does that open up all servers again?

    Not sure what the answer is ... but I mean they need to do something.  I havent been able to play in days it seems due to my server being down or population being FULL.  No que even.

    1) there will be paid transfers, limited only by the amount of people in the given server (not really sure how these limitations will be).

     

    2) You can create a character in any server, even if you have one in another server. Character creation is only limited to the amount of people in the server and the beginning areas.

    If it says there is a queue when you click a character to play, just click cancel and count to 3, so far i never had to try more then 2 times to get in.

    yes, at least i have 2 character in different servers (one in a japanese server, the other in Eu server Odin)

    Im on one of the more popular servers .. Behemoth.  I ALWAYS have a que ... in the afternoons its in the 100's of people.

    I am looking to play on a currently over populated server and am not all that confident all these issues will be solved anytime soon so, I wanna play this game now while I can. That being said, playing on a server with friends is absolutely paramount! What I was hoping to do is simply play today on an unpopular server and later transfer to the popular one. How much do these transfers typically go for? I have never done one in any mmo so am not familiar with prices.

    They haven't announced any prices yet, but it should be less then 20€.

    Anyway, you should try to stick with the server you want, this problems will go away in 1/2 weeks max, this is just the "new toy" rush.

    Since there are no transfers available yet, and the login screen talks about "once a charter is created, it is on that sever' etc.  can someone simply delete a character from a chosen server, thus opening up all servers again? I don't care too much right now about the transfer possibility. I would like to test the game out a bit before official launch tomorrow and hope that Gilgamesh and all highly populated servers are fixed by tomorrow.

    you dont need to delete the character. When you create a new character you are asked in which server you want it to be.
