  LOTRO has the Minstrel class which is very Bard-like.

  Lotro has the Minstrel with it's s$%t kicking ability to have a jam in really badly coded ABC music and rock Middle Earth like you where the halfling Hendrix. Best bard type class I have played, may want to have a look at Everquest and Everquest 2 also. As Sov mentions above isn't Aion ment  to have a new Bard class now?

  Isn't the Minstrel more of a healer than the "traditional" bard? I have never played lotro, but I seem to remember that. Not that it's bad, of course, but someone looking for a traditional bard, even full utility, might not want to really fill the primary healer role.

   

  For me, the best bards are the old EQ bard and the Vanguard bard. In EQ you have to activate your songs, while VG lets you compose your own ahead of time (or on the fly) using different combinations of song components (melody,verses,bridge,coda, etc.) and then just play them. VG bards are also pretty strong melee fighters in addition to all the utility they provide.

  You can also just make a new account easily as it's free to play.

  The best bard I ever played was in Ultima Online.  

  Was much fun.  I remember how pissed I'd be when I was killed and my GM tambourines were looted.
