Is this the best time to do maintenance?

Seriously... even if your east coast, you're still in prime time. I totally get the whole notion it's gotta be 5pm somewhere, but in NA I would think you'd spring for the late employee hours (who would probably like to make the money) and make a good impression.

Come on now gkb. No using common sense on the forums. That's simply not allowed. You might break the internet.

Not only is this correct, that it is based on Japan's hours and not ours, but this is an extremely long maintenance. It would not have mattered what time they started it would have affected us all anyway.

Most of the rest of the world accepts what NA players are going through right now.  Take an evening off its ok.

They obviously wanted to take everything down at the same time for a reason, and wanted to do it while their employees were at work and present.

Asking them to take the game down during their home markets prime time to satisfy our needs to play would be kind of ridiculous...not to mention asking their employees to pull an all nighter as well.

You will probably find that its not Japan times the maintenance  suits but European as the servers are down from 0.00 - 10.00am. Altough i feel sorry for you guys  for Europeans like myself its perfect. ;)

I have to agree with you hitman. Just because you are living in the U.S. does not mean the world revolves around you, myself included. I am actually much happier with maintenance being done tonight, at the same time to work the Japanese servers, instead of waiting 4 - 6 months for overseas content. Be happy we only have to have a single down day for patch days, instead of 6 months of waiting for that new content that has been out in Asia already.

But Hitman I'm an American. Clearly I'm far more important than anyone else! They should have their entire staff standing by waiting for me to tell them when I'm ready to play so they can immediately bring the servers back up, then get back to work as soon as I'm done playing. Screw their maintenance which impacts everyone in the world. I want to play nooooooooooooow! /tearsofrage

Anyway, as was explained last time this kind of maintenance happened: This also impacts JP prime time, not just US. Servers wont be back up until 7 PM JP time, and that's if things go smoothly and there are no delays.

It's OK. You will survive a few hours without your favorite video game just like everyone else. Use the time to go shower for a change, maybe wash out your poop sock, cook an actual meal instead of getting some fast food, get some exercise besides walking back and forth to your fridge, step outside for a few minutes (I know, it's scary but you will be OK), maybe actually do something with friends and family for a night (better get that shower I mentioned in 1st though).

It's going to ok for me as I am a 3-11 worker on the east coast. That being said. No 8pm-3am EST is not the smartest time for maintenance.

But it is a game in Japan. And for to long the rest of the world has altered their "Peak Times" due to US based maintenance times.

Maybe one day they will do rolling maintenance so no one loses peak time.

This again? Shrug it off and go to bed and ponder on how the world isn't flat. It's perfect for the rest of the world outside yours.

    Pretty much this.

Though what suprises me the most that there are players who claim they where not informed that the servers would go coming down. Despite the amounth of heads up in and out of game.

It's becaue the devs and staff live in Japan, and work in Japan revolves around when the commute is operating. So....They simply did maintenance during their work hours, sorry if that offends you XD I mean, would you stay after work without pay or a way to get home to please some Americans you don't even know? Or Europeans?

Long ago I played a game which had some events like 3 a week which were pretty good to advance in the game.

All these events started at 1 or 2 am.

I know it sucks but you can't make a perfect time because someone will have the maintenance in their prime time.

  • IkedaIkeda Member RarePosts: 2,751
Never mind the fact they announced this a couple of days in advance... So it wasn't like we should be surprised by it.

If you are speaking about the maintenance being made right now, it was an emergency maintenance, you dont choose when you do that becouse it's an emergency.

Maintenance is over however the error 90000 is back and so is 'can not update NA/EU world' error.

I don't have any issues with the current maintenance plan as a european based player as I am working during these hours :)

Just tired of people who think that the world is all about them..

I see a lot of complaining (especially US based players) about the times when maintenance takes place and their plans to have this changed just so they can raid and what not. It's not the end of the world not playing a game for an evening..

NA/EU servers have been pulled down for emergency maintenance so it is not over yet. It has been extended to another 2 hours.

OMG how can I live without  a game for a few hours??? I need to complain to the world online!
  • SerenesSerenes Member UncommonPosts: 351

I'm pretty sure big companies like Blizzard/Bioware do their maintenance at different times for each region to avoid down time during peak times for each region.

I would assume SE being a video game super power could do the same, meh guess not, yet another short coming on SE part with this game.
