Apparently my account has been suspended for botting, use third party software, and other cheating. No one else has used my account and I did not cheat in any way.
So, apparently, there is to be an investigation. If they really investigate, they'll find I didn't cheat.
So, I suspect, because I was doing well, malicious people reported me as a cheater. Is this all it takes to get someone's account suspended? That's griefing.
Anyway, if I don't get my account back complete with all my money and items from before this suspension began, I'm done with this game. There's no reason to work for something if it can just be taken away like this.
If you have done nothing wrong then there is no need to worry as I am sure they will not find anything wrong with your account and you will get it back.
But did you really need to come to MMORPG to make a post about it .?
I have been a long time supporter of Square but if they are just ASSUMING people are guilty before actually doing the homework,i do not accept that one bit.
There is perhaps a no win situation here,if everyone complains about shotty practices then they might not care about cheating at all and say live with it then.It took almost 5 years to get Square to actively go after cheating in FFXI and even then not a good enough effort far i am concerned.
Square was actually the FIRST to really go after and suspend and remove illegal currency, they deserve some praise but also some hate from gamer's.
I actually started to figure on inside workers or outside firms that handle maintenance. My reasoning was i played FFXI for 10 years and never hacked, then i get hacked once and by a person in Japan.Thing is when my account was hacked, that person took my player to a spot in the game that only a seasoned vet would know to get there in such a short time,it made me very suspicious.
None the less,i or we can never know if a player is telling us the truth or if they are even smart enough to realize they were hacked for one night. It might not even be a hack, they might have visited a shotty site and got some file downloaded or spyware or anything that might send a trigger to Square.
One other thing about when my account was hacked was, hows would they get my password, even if they used my ID,they can't get information from Square without all the codes, which even i have a hard time keeping track of.We saw it in GW2 as well, you get a big release and you can just never trust anyone, not even the developer because they have little control over it's thousands of employees.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Yes.
At the time I started the thread, I could not post on the SE forums because my account was suspended. I read reddit, but don't post on it. Here, I had been discussing participating in this game's launch, and thusly I discussed how it ended.
If reading my testimonial stops people "on the fence" from buying the game, good. I know from personal experience their system of "investigation" is flawed, and it's just a matter of time before others are affected the same way. The company is just bad at whatever they think they're trying to do. It's not right it should personally affect people who invest time with their product and legitimately try to do well.
Originally posted by Rhoklaw Wasn't there a statement made by SE about any accounts that had a certain amount of gil, such as 8 million or more were being soft banned until an investigation could be completed? In an attempt to curb the gil selling market, SE is trying to stop the selling now and investigate after. Doesn't mean you are permanently banned, but temporarily until they verify you are a legitimate player. There was also something talked about in regards to item duping to make gil which could be another reason you were banned if caught doing that. Not saying the OP is guilty of either, but more than likely, if you have a lot of gil, you could be an innocent victim of a necessary, but temporary ban.
The "statement" was an opinion, not an official statement, because people, as I, were trying to share info of conditions and arrive at a conclusion why they, too, were suspended for apparently no reason. Something a very high percentage of us had in common : we were higher-level crafters and had significant in-game money to show for it, some higher, some lower.
I'm not permanently banned, but I was suspended for almost 7 days and had done nothing to earn it.
From what I understand, an item duping issue is unsubstantiated rumor. If that was true it certainly would have been all over.
Yes, a thousand times yes, I agree rmt (which is real money trading, not "duping gold and selling it) and botting should be remedied. The company is bad at it. The company is bad at PR, too. There are just better places to spend my money.
just quit the game-- it is nothing more then a grind and to have a company just take money away like that with no recourse ... your guilty and you have no way to dispute it----- is down right BS to me...
