NCSoft is ready to introduce Lineage II players to a new race of beings set to debut in the game world with the game's tenth anniversary celebration in 2014. To tease players with a bit of information about the Ertheia, NCSoft has released a trailer. What do you think?

L2 the the game that have the smallest profit from NCSoft, in third quarter it made 13 billion korean won, while Lineage 1 made 62 billion KRW, in the second one L2 made 14 bi while L1 made 84 bi KRW.
Yes L2 still makes more money than almost all western MMOs, but it is doing very bad compared to other NC games, with L1 being the backbone of NCSoft:
Heheheheh! Ur right on the Money!
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein
"Graphics are often supplied by Engines that (some) MMORPG's are built in" - Spuffyre
L2 needs a lot of changes in order to become competitive again:
- Improve the drop rates and crafting system
- Balancing: in terms of class balance, L2 is the worst game of NC
- Too much buff dependence, it is awful and contributes a lot to the imbalances of the game.
- Decrease the number of instances and make open world alive again.
I give up on Lineage 2 as well. To be honest I Loved the original game, I will always miss it because its one of the First most detailed Graphic RPG I have ever played. I would go back to Lineage 2 personally if it wasn't for what NC-Soft did to it to ruin the game for me.
Last time I played the game Was like a year ago maybe more now I assume things are still the same way no idea why they would change it.
1.) They changed barber-shop items to Cash Shop items can't obtain freely anymore.
2.) They changed Seven Signs I used to run all the time.
3.) Instead of making less down-time and turning it into an action game they destroy it by making items soul bound but leaving trade items in at a higher cost. I would put in mana regeneration buffs for everyone less down-time more killing.
4.) They add Mounts to the game, and make it totally Pay 2 Enjoy Via Cash-Shop.
5.) NCsoft did the same thing with Aion, Excluding the fact that Aion had hackers the game was okay until they went the Cash-Shop Route.
6. I would also Fix the crafting system get rid of the Dwarf only crafting thing.
Any MMO, that doesn't allow the freedom to freely customize my character on the fly as of This date I refuse to play it, take for example instead of NCsoft being greedy with Aion, and Lineage 2 they could have given players the ability to 100% Customize their character any time they please I would still be playing today, but instead they made it all Cash Shop, Cosmetic Tickets pay 2 Enjoy I won't play.
You ask how you make money from this, You sell additional Content Packages as DLC for real money but allow the customer to freely swap between them, you can still offer cosmetic one time tickets to those who don't want to buy the packs as well.
.The last reason I quit Line-age 2 before they really screwed up the cash-shop/game, is because my account was *Compromised when it went F2P due to their failure as a company to have *Secondary* Passwords. My account had the same password for years, it wasn't used in other games and mysteriously after playing my character like 2-3 days before my character gets compromised, nothing on my PC, or Add-On's for the game that could have done this one I checked everything unlike my wow account that was compromised due to add-on this game had no add-on's and shouldn't have been compromised.
NcSoft as a company failed to restore the account leaving my character naked high level no Gear, and in turn have me the wrong set when I called customer service not enchanted totally useless to me for everything I lost. For all I know a GM could have done this themselves because there was no sign of account hack at all, but I can't accuse them without proof all I can say is my Lineage 2 account was ruined, NcSoft did nothing.
I miss this game for what it once was, But I can't return to it until NcSoft Restores my account, and turns the game into something a bit more playable I can return, new Patches are not going to make me spend money in NcSoft titles making me a happy customer will, and I know for sure if developers actually listen to its players more, made the right decisions or if I was the head of a F2P Company I would be rolling in much more money than NcSoft, as well as making players want to stay in my game because its fun.

L2 could've become a really good fantasy sandbox, its a shame that NCsoft never iterated in it. they kept the themepark grindmill and power creep instead of giving more meaning to the HUGE worl they had.
i played it since Gracia but i saw that the game had been going downhill with that way of development
-no class balance
-no more depth in the pet/mount system (the wolf and the wyvern were cool features they should have iterated more there)
-land owning and other stuff like that was castle siege material....when they could have iterated in player housing for example......(why having such big world if you cannot build anything out there?)
-no balance of the powercreep and the morbidly BORING! grindmill....
-having bosses locked when you're over the required lvl.....why?, people will skip them anyways in order to get to the top. at least allow me to kill them for fun.
-crafting dependant in dwarves..........i've never seen such bullshit
i must say the Lineage PI is a really good lore to read but they have failed at the gameplay lvl......at least Lineage had open worlds, not like the instanced shit that i saw in Aion......
Thank you Lady S. Ford,
I do look forward to your posts! It has been a while since I have seen your blog. Do you still update there, or does MMORPG.com simply take too much time?
Anyway, I started playing Lineage 2 back in 2004. She was a beautiful and dangerous world back then. I would also offer some truly unique community encounters as well. You simply didn't solo this mmo after level 20, unless you had a "death-wish". Clans and alliances were and still are king. Sieges were what you did at end-game, LOL, however very, very few people I ever saw were actually at end-game. It was the slowest grind I have ever experienced, but it was the same for everyone, thus you relied heavily on making friends and being a part of something bigger than yourself. There were HUGE raids when bosses were up. Seemed like the entire server was present. Thus raids and sieges, were lag-fests even when you turned your crappy graphics cards down on your crappy over-the-counter computer you bought at Best Buy. This was an age we call the "Golden Age" of mmo's. A time when almost no one really had a "gaming rig".
Arguably the most beautiful soundtrack in gaming today is a high watermark of Lineage 2 and the composer of the original soundtrack, Dan Brown. It still brings emotions welling up from inside my heart when I hear the Dion Theme or just the old Talking Island theme. Sadly though, L 2's time has come and gone.
NCSoft has tried to make it relevant, but it just isn't the same. There are truly some new and exciting mmo's in offering next year and in the next 5 years to come. Not sure even if Lineage Eternal will bring anything truly new or different to what we already have out there. I do hope though that the soundtrack still remains stunning.
Salutes Lineage 2, my first true mmo experience...

The only place Lineage II is profitable is in the east. Not a very good game for a western audience.
