"Summing up, our opening hands on time with Ryse: Son of Rome left us very impressed. The game brims with potential, featuring what appears to be a subtly deep brawler combat mechanic that's balanced with strategic squad command elements. Add to this its awesome graphics and we can't wait to have some more time with the bloody Roman fighter."

Definitely looks intriguing enough to warrant a try.
Today I paid off my Xbox One pre-order. I also pre-ordered Ryse, Destiny and Titanfall. I also got my Destiny beta code today. It is going to be pretty darn awesome.

Where do you get the destiny Beta codes? I also paid off my Xbox one and Ryse.
the video looks pretty good now that its not QTE the video game anymore. However, i found 3 problems in this video:
1. Its a corridor game with zero exploration. WHy cant they let me explore the battlefield where they clearly show people fighting below that bridge? Why dont they let me join that fight at will, or just freely explore around before continuing my path forward? IF you dont allow me to join the fight outside the corridor gameplay, then dont show the exciting battlefield fights around me in cutscenes because that only makes me think the game sucks because im always stuck in a corridor while all the good stuff happens everywhere else and i cant join them.
2. The combat looks somewhat like Dark SOuls mixed God of War and a bit of Batman, which is great. BUT Dark SOuls did a much better job with the combo finishers without slow motion and felt much more exciting. Slow motion to make it easy to finish do the final blow still makes the fight boring like old QTEs.
3. THis one kind of tie in to the lack of exploration and corridor too but but its a major feature on its own. Why the heck do companies still limit the gameplay to little pieces of hack n slash where you cant advance until a cutscene is triggered? Sacrificing the gameplay itself is a terrible way to carry the story through the game.
Just in case, im not bashing the game. THey did a great job removing the awful QTE centric combat but those 3 points are still a huge issue that negatively affects a lot of games, not just this one.
Originally posted by Havok2all Hope has a difficulty scale. Looked way too easy. Fighting 5 at once and took no damage the entire fight (the minotaur guys).
I am also hoping it has a difficulty setting because even though it looks really good it also looks too easy.
Not surprised at all after watching the gameplay videos.
This game sucks. And the graphics arent even anything special and people acting like its some sort of new achievement. Assassins Creed 4, Batman Origins, Tomb Raider all had better graphics and more open world with way more detail and physics.
The system is good so that's all that matters to me for now. Ryse is still on my list but I will have to wait and play it first. Graphics are amazing but not a deep combat system. Looks like its Killer Instinct and Forza 5 for now. Thomas if you get any of those 2 let me know so we can hook up.
