Dungeon Siege MMO.

BraindomeBraindome Member UncommonPosts: 959

I just had to make this topic to get some attention as this game at its core plays very much like Dungeon Siege minus the stop time of course.

The maps are totally open world, when you transverse from dungeon to dungeon players follow you and the transition is seamless and you can see the outside of the map with people still running around that you just exited. A good example of open world is there is an area with a hole in the ground, if you fall in other players can fall in with you, it is immersive and cool.

Just had to post that if you have ever wanted a Dungeon Siege MMO "I know a few that have" this is the closest you will probably ever get, it's a neat game and worth checking out.

I was enjoying it until I saw that you can directly buy gold. =[

Having plenty of fun myself in the game, but to address the poster above me, there's no way to directly buy gold not sure where you get that from. There are xp/gold drop boosters but you cant just outright buy gold.

My mistake, I didn't see it earlier when I was looking through the shop that you can indeed buy bags of gold.

Also enjoying this title right now.  I'm all for giving it a little hype.

You can buy Eldevin points with money, then turn those into Gold bags. I think the highest I saw was a bag with 250g in it.

EDIT: It's a Huge Chest of Gold containing 250g for 2k Eldevin points. You can get 2100 Eldevin points for $20. So yeah.

I did the $60 support thing, got 6000 Eldevin points. The game seems to focus on story, questing and crafting, so I would say spend a little money for bag space. You don't need to buy gold, quest rewards give enough for what you need.

You buy EP, you use EP to buy gold. But it's useless since you are limited to how much gold you can carry anyways.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

I typically stay away from browser games, but this one seems to have some hype around it. I checked it out briefly, but can someone tell me what makes this game stand apart from others?

    Its very old school

Its more on the old school feel of games, its very story driven, freeform gameplay, and most importantly the game runs amazingly smoothly in combat, questings, basicly everything.

For a company's first MMORPG, I am thoroughly impressed. They have nailed the old-school feeling coupled with fun factor. I remember playing The Return to Krondor back when I was an early teenager and this reminds me of that. I still often find myself thinking that the games of yesteryear were, for some reason, a lot better than the modern ones of today.

Great job HCS, keep up the good work, keep moving forward with the game, and don't do anything SOE wouldn't do LOL.

yea i really like the concepts and what they did with this game, just cant bring myself to get over the terrible pov you're forced to play from and since they cant really fix it  yea  not gona spend my time annoyed with the game the whole time.

Agree on the horrible camera.  On the forums that is the number one gripe and they speculated they might change it.  No definite answers.  Outside of the camera issue, the game is a blast and I have been playing a lot since launch.  In-depth crafting with tons of things to do with a well constructed story.

I'll wait until they can implement WASD movement. My wrist is done playing point&click/hold games.

I'll wait until there's keyboard movement (as opposed to click to move)

It was a decent game and I liked the old school feel of it, but like others I hate point and click, and there are still a few quest errors that I can't get past, other than that this one is worth checking out.
