If all "free" MMO were sub based, which one would you play ?

CaldenCalden Member Posts: 22

Hello all,

Lately I've been looking around a lot to find some MMO to waste my time on... After a while, I came to realize that many MMORPG's now disgusts me due to the Pay to win system (some people call it Pay for convenience, I call bs on that one).

I turned down many names now which I had quite a bit of fun in the past due to this.

So I was wondering, if all the P2W games turned into P2P models, would you play game you would otherwise not play? If so, which game?

Personally, I think I would sub to Neverwinter at the moment.

Probably none. I've been enjoying GW2 and I don't consider that p2w. Mind you I work alot and only play once or twice a week so I haven't burnt myself out on it yet.

I would not go back to subs. I think I would fork over 600$ and buy a playstation 4 and a few games. Play some gta4, battle field etc.

Also can't wait for SC =), already have my 300i. Dog fighting module just around the corner.

None. No game is worth a subscription. I don't buy items that I have to continue to pay to use. If they want to charge me a monthly fee, the game itself should be free because there is no other market that does this kind of fleecing.

    None of them!

Besides which they would also charge p2w as well as p2p

I will stick with gw2 for a bit longer.

Same here, I actually quit games rather than rent item space etc...

Cable has an installation fee along with your monthly subscription. You could just call the box price your installation fee, since you literally are installing it :).

Also, if you buy a satellite radio you have to subscribe to use it. GPS devices have additional fees. Cell phones etc.

    You sir, are wrong.

You're comparing paying utility bills to playing a game. Granted you proved your point if you take his comment literally but I'm pretty sure the topic here was gaming.

Cable has no installation fee here. In fact, they even give you a HD terminal for "free (as long as you are with them)".

Satellite radio is a sham and totally not worth it. GPS cost me 100$ and has no additional fees. Cell phones aren't worth it. If they want to spy on me, they will pay me, not the other way around. Incase you didn't know, your phone is against you and you are paying to have it spy on you.

Don't know where you live, but you're in a very bad place right now.

Boycotting EA. Why? They suck, even moreso since 2008.

You don't buy cable, the boxes, remotes or any other device from your cable service. A satellite radio can pick up any satellite radio service, you don't have to subscribe to a service to use it, there are over 150 free satellite radio channels they can pick up. A cell phone is a stand alone object, phone service is an addition. I can buy a cell phone, connect it to my PC and download apps on it, and use it. I can also go to a wifi hotspot and access the internet with it and use the apps, the item that I paid for is still functioning and usable, just not 100%.

An MMORPG is a video game, its made as a video game. They want you to buy it and still have to pay to use it, you don't pay to use it, the item you paid for is 100% useless. No other market does this.

You sir, don't know what you are talking about.

took me all of two seconds.

atlantica and, for me, it's not even close.

it's actually a really unique game and nothing like any other MMOs out there (the combat, if i had to pick a game to compare it to, is like pirate 101).

the ONLY thing wrong with atlantica (apart from some crummy translation) is the monetiztion which can best be summed up with the term "gambling"

Wushu, the only mmorpg on the market that's not copy paste and it's a pvp/character building focused.
