Role Playing In Age Of Wushu...

RimmersmanRimmersman Member Posts: 885

If any MMO was built for RP then it's Age Of Wushu/Wulin, feudal china with a beautiful FFA PVP and PVE gaming in a hybrid MMO. I suspect that many of us loved the flying daggers movie and the old snake in the monkey shadow type movies, it's those films that drew me to this game in the first place.

So i'm thinking of being part of a clan which only has two schools, one is to restrictive IMO. I'm looking at Tagmen and Wanderers Alley which is the assassin/poison and thief type schools. My role play would be a member of those schools and a clan but go around with two of my friends calling ourselves the three brothers.

Have the same last names in the game and dress the same, kidnapping and becoming masters would be the main aim. Assassins for hire with a brutality and efficiency to match, meeting somewhere in the wilderness to settle scores through deadly combat and working outside the clan in secret.

How about you.

I agree, the game lends itself extremely well for roleplaying and immersion - it feels natural and is apparent from the start. i havent gone as far as a back story yet but i will see during beta how my own story developes as a said its quite natural - howerver suspect i will go Tang - seems easier play style with me not being very bright an all!

Lol, i think any avid mmo gamer would need time getting used to Age O Wushu, it aint hand holding easy mmo play. Logging in on the first beta i was a bit lost to be honest but that's the fun of a deep mmo.

There a lot of content and things going on in the game, it will take months to master and even more time to become a master. Kind of reminds me of trying to become a jedi in swg before the shit hit the fan.

Becoming a master will be hard as hell.

Haven't felt like that since logging into EQ for the first time.

For those interested in such things, there's a complex marriage system forthcoming in China version of AoW. Couples need to go through a elaborate courtship process before tying the knot.

A healthy marriage relationship not only provide buffs and titles but also unlock some intimate interactions and character animations between the couple in game.

A role players dream. Were as TSW (Also a role playes dream) has to do with setting. world detail, and actual content, Wushu has more depth in systems built in to the core of the game, settting, and maybe to a slightly lesser extent world detail, even though AoW palaces and location are based on real world locations aswell.

Definately alot of oppurtunity for some good RP-PVP here. Much like I was hoping for in The Secret World, with the heavier restrictions on death in PVP and the jail system it got me interested to give this game a try.

Maybe can draw up some fond memories of aniticpatory RP building up to some good PVP much like I experienced in Ultima Online back in the Dayz.. real Warz.. not the overzealous zerg and op tactics of more modern MMO's. Being PVP centric and having no option for otherwise brings in that EVE hardcore approach as well as the training system..

Alot of promise here for something that will more than likely be pretty low key in regards to the reception it recieves on sites.

PM before you report at least or you could just block.

Roleplay is really fun.... I'm trying to figure out which server has most of it in it! I'd love to get into some nice RP in the game!
