I often laughed at the thought of people playing shallow browser games and never saw myself getting so engrossed in one as I am Eldevin.
With a feeling of being 'in between games', having just put ARR on the shelf for the time being with friends taking a break, I thought I'd amuse myself a couple of weekends ago by trying Eldevin out. I've got to say I've been impressed to the extent that I thought I'd share my impressions with this board.
Who would have thought a browser game could offer so much depth? So far at least, the crafting seems worthwhile and fun. The instanced 5-man dungeons are well designed and again, fun. Consider that I've recently played ARR, no browser game is ever going to be a graphical eye-candy delight, but Eldevin's draw comes from its playability and charm.
Props to the devs that apparently spent a lot of time making this little gem, and I'd urge anyone to give this one a chance. Even if, like me, you never saw yourself playing a browser game!

Nice heads-up. Thank you!
Actually, I really appreciate this: my daughter plays browser-based games because her PC isn't up to much. She'll really enjoy this. I'm just on their website now and it looks fab. Great graphics, too, for a browser game. 40 levels, PVP, 14 professions. Sounds the business!
A great list of free games (mostly MMORPGs): http://www.mytop10games.com/
It's actually developed in Scotland which is slightly unusual in itself! I wholeheartedly agree Damond, have been very pleasantly surprised by Eldevin. Crafting my ass off as I type!
Give it a go guys, you may well be surprised like me.
Game is down currently with an update pending. Thought I'd check back here with a few more points having played and progressed a bit more now.
I cannot believe how responsive the Dev's are within the suggestions thread on the official forums, go check it out guys. You have someone make a suggestion yesterday, albeit a small one, that item inventory stack-splitting be more clear, and the suggestion is being implemented in today's update.
I myself have made suggestions and get a Dev response within an hour.
Of course dev response times, only, don't make for a solid/enjoyable game, but I'm loving Eldevin still. I even find myself reading story text here, unlike the powerlevel quest-skipping I'd do in every other MMO (AAA's not browser). The fact that I feel this, as a browser game, stands up to my experiences of most AAA's speaks volumes itself.
This game and its devs deserve success as far as I'm concerned
Best mmorpg i played for years
Browser or not

Very weird. Need to update your Java perhaps? I've had no such issues. It may be worthwhile posting on the tech thread on the forums Cura, I've no doubt the devs will respond.
We're working on making a hardware version of the client in order to address issues people are having with bad performance. No ETA on this just yet though however.
Currently working around the clock on Eldevin
Remember this game runs off CPU.... Many times things are running in the background that eat up CPU check the Task Manager to see if any thing is using a lot of it... I had a bit of trouble but had a Program that was running that was not needed eating UP memory and CPU... May not be your Issue but worth a look...
The lack of WASD controls is a weird one and is still the case but reassurances from Devs that this will be changed.
I didn't enjoy the game.
I don't like the cash shop aspect of being able to purchase in-game currency. The cash shop is ok otherwise, albeit a bit expensive imo.
The crafting is very very grindy and didn't seem deep at all to me. I tried to be patient but it was just too boring.
Overall the game takes a lot of elements from Runescape and WoW and does it well. As others have mentioned combat is tab 1-2-3. Very simple but works well enough I suppose.
The camera view was also insanely annoying and the click to move was annoying as well. I hear they will be fixing those things though so props to the devs for being on top of that.
Eldevin does have things to offer but I wouldn't expect much in the way of originality. Seems like your typical theme park mmorpg. If that doesn't bother you give it a try, maybe you will like it.
Heard it gets really badly paywalled after 20.
Also heard it gets very grindy and boring past a certain point too (something about 16,000 hides to level crafting?)
Kinda put me off. Dunno the truth behind those two things.
