One of the reasons I didnt have any interest in ESO is because of the T rating...so now they have a M rating...but I dont quite think they rise to the M rating and if they knew they would get a M ratiing...how much better would they have made the game/setting?
And I remember when AoC deserved their M rating....is there still even one topless woman in the game anymore?
Actually ESO is going to stick to what they been doing making ES games, I doubt you'll see any GORE of the level of AoC or sexual focus like it was in AoC.
I think if ESO stays to their ES name brand content and don't add a crapload Gore or nudity, parents wont have a problem getting their kids this game.
However, I think ESO should come out and claim NO NUDITY if they do not have any in it. I think this probably the only thing parents really worry about.
One thing I like is the more fantasy-realistic direction of the graphics. It doesn't seem like it was designed with 11 year olds in mind like some MMOs and if the rating further helps keep the 11 year olds out then I think that's a good thing .
Hopefully that means they can add more gore and fatalities and tits, etc.
I mean, why not? It is an ES game.
Tit's in a TES game without mods, can't remember. But the rest would be good. At least swift decapitations, fatalities in a real time online game, hard to pull. Hated in AoC when I was stuck in animation and the other mobs kept attacking me while I basked in the glory of animation32 for the Nth time

They did this on purpose, you can very easily make a game get a mature rating with some basic onscreen effects. People think a mature rated game will offer certain things with that rating, doesn't mean it will.
For instance North American Tera online attained a mature rating by adding some blood splatter effects onscreen, Tera EU which is identical aside from the blood splatter is pg12.

LOL, ES games never stood for tits, I'm sry to disappoint you. Fatalities were in SKYRIM though. We'll have to see what ESO announces.
They were in a few builds back, lots of fan-sites that had hands on talked about them. Not sure if they are still on though, we are talking mid last year so could have been removed (who knows?).
Combination of things though, as the posting of the Skyrim ratings reasonings showed. I do like that they stuck with what they had. I imagine all the nudity in ESO will be client side hacking.
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

I can see why they might not be. Having your game suddenly pop into cinematic fatality mode while there might be another NPC coming up behind you to gank you could be problematic.
Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
I'd be surprised if it was anything less than "M".
Also, ratings do absolutely nothing unless the parents are well educated on it. When music got it's rating system in the 80s, all it did was told kids which one to buy.

Sir, that is blasphemy. A TES game without mods is not TES... oh wait.
At least they could humor their community and add them anyway. It would make it feel more like TES.
Eh eh, some sort of well hidden easter egg
well obviously the ESRB disagrees?
There was no shortage in Daggerfall.

Skooma, sweet Skooma....

Yep I think its that Skooma use or could be niplidg your pick
Yeah, that or the demonic worship and human sacrifice to said daedra. Probably alcohol.
The single player games have alcohol and drugs (skooma) and they are T rating
Oblivion and Skyrim are M
I guess they changed it then
