    I thought they said by FEB 28.  But I don't know he probably did.  Kind of like the promises to bring back a game like EQ that the RT responses lead me to believe they are building a WoW with a new AI.

    Edit: It was actually Smed that said "second half of January" in a tweet about Landmark alpha a while back.  The official dates previously were Alpha Feb 28th and Beta March 30th (?).

    Not taking sides. But I don't think January is over yet. So if he for a fact said it would be out in Alpha by the end of January he still has a few days. I know they are having a Event near there HQ on the 31st I believe or the 30th. Perhaps they let alpha start right after or on the same day?

    This is my assumption too though the event has been said to only be internal servers.  I thought maybe they would have alpha a day or two earlier but they are currently tweeting founder's pack codes on Twitter for the "next day or two".

    As far as I know, the only official date they have given is Feb 28th "or before". Everything else is just speculation and wild guesses by Smed and the other guys who don't do the actual development.

    Would be fun to get my hands on Alpha (I'm a Trailblazer) this month, but I'm not counting on it.

    The Landmark team is putting all nighter right now, they want it out just as much as we do.

    This. It's not the developers fault if people take Smed's tweet of "looks like it's going to be January" as a promise.

    You can call him cheesy or pony-tail guy all you want. But, I have found fewer producers/developers more energetic and excited than that guy. He is passionate about the game his team is producing. That is the kind of guy I want running the development team.

    Smed also said end of year last year at the reveal that they would  release a playable version before years end.  Smed doesn't know what he is talking about becuase Smed is not a developer.  Sometimes he gets excited and says things maybe before he actually asks if they can be accomplished.  

    Dave Georgeson though scares the fook out of me all together.  He RUINED one of the best games in history Tribes, when he tried to release tribes 2 "the way he thought it would be fun", and it wasn't.  It sucked, bad.  I am afraid he is going to do that with this game, so I hope he takes his new age pony tail and early prototype hipster outfit and fucks off into the sunset after he ruins this one.  I am sure he is a nice guy, but he hasn't given me much hope with his history being a producer.
