i was looking forward to Wasteland 2 until i saw the stame page. It seems to be a point and click game with some RTS mechanics. I´ll pass.... It had potential to be something bigger with more indepth mechanics. No point and click game is worth 60 bucks from my wallet.

So is chess, but a computer will still kick your ass at it.
Give me a smooth interface and great gameplay. I don't care if I'm hitting shift J or right clicking on a spot on the ground as long as it is fun and engaging.
I'm surprised Kenshi didn't make the list. It looks to be one of the better RPGs of the year, but definitely still needs a bit more work (unsurprising for an alpha stage game).
Yea don't bother with Banner Saga. You're better off reading a choose your own adventure book while you play Final Fantasy Tactics and dismissing one of your best guys every time you make a bad choice.

The old school turn based RPG with epic story and great characters.
Step in the arena and break the wall down
i've been playing the multiplayer mode of 'Banner Saga' for the past year or so. Deffinately one of my most played games of last year.
i am putting off getting the new SP release until later, but am actually very excited that it is finally finished (chapter 1 at least).
I know the criteria was for games releasing in 2014, but this game is one to watch.

$600,000 kick-starter goal just to play a female... um... no.
Really looking forward to Elite: Dangerous. It's not an RPG though, so how it ended up on this list is somewhat of a mystery.
