Those who don't currently own a founder's pack can still purchase one throughout the alpha stage; in fact, SOE's John Smedley promises that the studio "will offer a full refund to anyone not satisfied with the Alpha."

When does it start?

Alpha begins today for those who have purchased a Founder’s Pack or received a Founder’s Pack via a giveaway. Twitter announcements alluded to an alpha kickoff “later” today, which could mean this evening. You can watch SOE’s live stream event while you wait.

How do I get in?

Look for an email later today. No specific time for the email will be given, and emails will likely be staggered to prevent server overloads, so just keep refreshing that inbox. If your friend happened to receive an email earlier than you, don’t fret - yours is probably still queued. Update: Make sure that you add info@e-sonyonline.com to your email safe sender's list! That's where your alpha download email will arrive.

Is there an NDA?

Yep. As much as you’ll want to, you can’t talk about your Landmark experience.

Can I still buy a Founder’s Pack and get into alpha?

Yes. There’s currently no cut-off on Founder’s Pack sales. Be aware, though, that if you purchase a Founder’s Pack today you won’t likely have your invite email until tomorrow. However, you’ll still have access to alpha! Your account will be flagged and you’ll have to head to the official Landmark alpha forums (you may have to log out, clear your cache, and log back in again to see the alpha forum.)

I got this key from PC Gamer...

That’s cool. Unfortunately, your PC Gamer key won’t get you into alpha. They’re for closed beta, which is expected to kick off on or before March 31st.

What are the system requirements again?

Here they are.

Ouch. Not sure my PC can take it. What if I can’t play?

SOE has promised to give you a refund. You’ll need to contact customer service.

Too laggy on my machine. Possibly because I don't have enough RAM so that is my prob unless anyone else is having the same prob.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

Not sure how long their "NDA" will hold up when you can buy it just to see all it's features and return it in the same day.

It's the same for all games with an NDA. Some immature morons can't be arsed to understand or respect a NDA, and the moderators are never fast enough to nip it in the bud.

Pretty sad if you ask me. But whatever, since amusingly, all those leaked videos are pretty positive. Not bad for an alpha. Some other games actually in beta can't claim the same.

I'm kinda thankful for Twitch. I can go watch a few streams for an hour and get a solid look at the current game state... Rather than buy a founders pack, install/download the game, play it myself, then potentially have to go through the refund process.

Well, since you can automatically get a CC refund for the purchase of ANY beta/alpha piece of software, all Smed is saying is: "We'll give you your money back, but let us save the chargeback fee...".

Nothing like "giving" people something they are legally entitled to.

its seem nowaday, game company wasting lot of money on making game that why they trying to grab money on everything available.

what i mean wasting money here is on investors, who put some money in and expect x10 time profit. its like having millions of leecher on a game so in order for the game to survive, it has to grab as much cash as possible.

look at all the MMO from the pass like EQ, FF11, WOW they doesnt require a huge investment like some trillion but they still become success and bring in profit without....selling alpha test or selling exclusive RACE.

i guess this is the trend and its your choice to let this continue or let it die so it never happen anymore

adding: at lease this game come F2P. i guess it can get away with some sell stuff. as long as it fun.

Except that doing charge backs will get your account banned on nearly any online platform. But I guess if that's not a problem for you then sure, you can get refunds for anything.

Its a good policy they have but really, those people would have done everyone a favor should not have bought the ALPHA to begin with. I get it, some don't even know what a real beta phase for a game can be like so it may be a bit of a shock.

Come one gamers, be a little more mature with what you are purchasing, respecting what develpers are working on, and the NDA rules surrounding them..
