From Gamezone: "I can't really reveal much about it right now. Since the embargo on our coverage doesn't lift until 10am on Friday"

NDA lift in the next couple weeks is mandatory for me to even consider pre ordering.
EDIT: Oh and a 24/7 beta up to cap.
Playing: FFXIV, DnL, and World of Warships
Waiting on: Ashes of Creation
Guess we'll find out on Friday.
That would be some weird preview... would they use the phrase "I can't tell you but trust me" a whole lot?
Nah, I'm betting on NDA lift as well.

I actually think it will be a lot tamer than the preorder discussion since people will actually be argueing the merits of the game rather than more divisive monetization issues.
I do hope this bodes well for an open beta, since there was some suggestion that it may not occur.
100% agreed dude.

well if theyre dropping the NDA for everyone (I think it will just be for the press and websites whoa re always pro game no matter how bad it is) then there arent going to be any more betas. Closed anyway.
Either way there will be a lot of stuff on the net thats for sure good and bad and stuff will really hit the fan.
Can't wait for Friday. I doubt open beta then but we will see.

Don't worry. There will always be some news site that wants hits because they get lonely and rip the game apart. When that happens I'll forward you the link so you can post here. It will then get 100 pages of forum comments while the threads with positive articles will drift out of site.

nah theyll be plenty of negativity here dont worry. Unless everyone is perma banned here or something that said a bad word about the game.
Really? I thought if you say something positive you get banned lol. See, we all look at the world through a different lense lol.

Open ? near end of month or beginning of March you'd think
That's why those pre employment personality tests are so borked "Most people have good intentions"

If you think this site is nothing but negativity you must have missed they year leading up to gw2's release.
lifting a press embargo is not lifting an NDA.
Ill say February 14th as long as where guessing
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

So.. They gave people an old beta build for the "stress test" then 4 weeks later allow the press to report on said old build beta?
I sure hope Bethesda is smarter than that and have recently let the press have access to something more finished.
any game media outlet that doesnt clearly inform players the difference between a beta and a finished product should be pushed out of the business.
Any player who doesnt understand the difference should not be playing games.
Its really not that hard of a concept.

Many gamers apparently think that companies use NDA's to hide things from players.
NDA's are typically created to protect what the company feels to be valuable information from competitors and has nothing to do with players at all.
Sometimes, it's not even strictly about either of those, if a marketing department has enough pull within a company, they can set timetables for information release so that their staff can hit deadlines to produce videos, artwork, talking points, setting up exclusive interviews, etc.
Now, keep in mind, just because we (the gamers) don't think something is unique, new, or worth protecting, doesn't mean the company shares that view of their own product.
