LF a more difficult PvP experience.

Hello. I've been playing WoW since about 2005 and it is just way too boring anymore. I've been searching around for a good PvP MMORPG experience, but nothing seems to fit what i like. I really enjoy the feel of Dark Souls (XB360) but it its too much of a solo game feel... not much people. I really enjoy the MMO aspect of WoW, but i like a large variety of PvP like Dark Souls... GW2, Eve Online, and TERA have mixed reviews it seems... I'm more hack n slash fantasy based. I have played many games such as Ragnarok Online, Astonia 3, EQ, Lotro, Fiesta, and Eden Eternal. Just a bit too Pay2Win for me as well. Would like a f2p game or atleast a game with a trial and isnt too graphics heavy as my computer is by no means high end. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Trust me man, there isn't much out there.

I started with MMO's when Everquest released, but moved to WoW when it launched. That was pretty much the pinnacle of MMO gaming. Almost everything out there is trash.. Here are a few I will suggest that are playable, and even compare to what WoW had in it's glory days.

-Dark Age of Camelot: This game predates WoW by a few years, but graphics wise lags behind by a few decades. If you can get past that, this is actually a very enjoyable experience with some of the best PvP around. Granted, it's a little slower than WoW. You can't cast while moving (in most cases), melee attacks are more.. tactical, for lack of a better word, and there are very few quests in the game. You grind (or pvp like most) to level cap.

It's not free to play, but has a trial last I saw.

I play Midgard, not current installed though. I have a RR8~ Savage named Dulu.

-League of Legends: This really isn't an MMO at all, but it's listed as one on this site. It's addictive, and you do level from 1-30, but it's all matchmade games, it's not an open world or anything. It's the biggest competitive game in the history of online games. If you want PvP, this is where it's at.. currently.

    My ID is Dulu MZ

Diablo 2: TWO, not THREE. Once again, not really an MMO, but a great online-RPG that WoW got a lot of ideas from.

If you need anyone to play with for any of these, just post your name once you make an account and I'll download em with you, I'm so bored of this genre.

MMO's are shit anymore. Seriously. Guild Wars 2 had a chance to be the big game changer but the lack of subscription I felt left too much community out of it. Elder Scrolls online might be good and Wildstar. But as for now and pvp I would suggest Mortal Online, or Dark Fall Unholy wars. Both indie Sandbox games. Mortal is clunky and buggy, and Darkfall had a community that hates the game they play.

Haven't played Mortal, but I was a big fanboy of Darkfall for a few years.. until it launched and I actually got to play.

Horrid, and one of the biggest scams in MMO history.

Avoid it - although their "relaunch" as "Unholy Wars" may be slightly better.

Checked out Dark Age of Camelot. Appears to be another Tab-Target style mmo. Thats kind of what i'm trying to avoid. I've tried LoL, and found out that the MOBA genre just makes me mad haha. And yes, oh yes, i played the bloody hell out of Diablo2 back in the day... haha. I guess i should've been more specific with my post. I'm looking for an Action based mmorpg with strong PvP and progression with said PvP, such as stronger gear for pvp, etc. And a little variety would be nice, a bit less cookie cutter. I know i may be asking for a lot, but I just want to find a MMO thats like Dark Souls haha. Not a fan of a hotbar with 30 different skills you got to plan for, pretty much attack, block, and move are more my style.

the game you are looking for is darkfall, the problem over there is the dev's are kinda poop and the playerbase is on the low side. just letting you know the game exists and its exactly what you and many others want, you just dont play it. :)

It's worse.  Much worse.  It's like taking a turd and liquifying it, then sticking it in your shoes for three weeks.  That bad.

Still, if you want to try it, there's a huge discount going on for the next week.

Not much when it comes to action based MMO's.

Wildstar is probably the best out there, but it's still in beta.

Guild Wars 2 and Darkfall, in my opinion are really bad.

Oh,  and FIREFALL is in open beta, and it's a lot of fun, but they have disabled PvP so I haven't tried it yet, but it seems like it could be just the thing you're looking for.

If you like PvP and hack and slash you may want to check out Tera, Dragon's Prophet, Dragon Nest. You might like one of those and they're free so it's not like you lose anything just trying them out.

Wildstar and ESO fit too but those aren't out yet.

If you're not too afraid to dabble into tab targeting combat, EVE online is some of the most intense, strategic, and difficult PvP you can have.

Other than these though there's not too many action oriented combat games that aren't a pain in the ass to play in the MMO space. Maybe try some lobby based games.

Checked out Darkfall. Looks like the game is still in early beta, atleast from how the game looked. Lol. May try it after a few patches. And SMITE looks like a 3rd person LoL. Hmm... Is TERA any decent in terms of PvP? Like, is there any PvP Progression? Gear, rewards, etc. I tried installing it but my computer just hated the hell out of Happy Cloud for some reason... maybe its the windows 8 lol.

Tera is a korean mmo, so for most people there is too much gear progression.  There are bgs, rated arenas, and WvW (thought the maps are far smaller than games like gw2) I'm not sure how the open world PvP is since I haven't played on a PvP server in ages.  The down side is open world PvP is all you have access to until level 30 as most of the bgs/arenas/WvW are only for max level characters.  But really if you're looking for a true non tab target mmo at this time Tera is about the only game in town.  Also several classes in Tera gain more mobility as they level so the stand still and charge a skill gameplay you see at lower levels that turns a lot of people off diminishes significantly at higher levels.
