I know this game is in beta but it seems to me that theres only one way of winning and as soon as your out minioned you really are at a loss. Is this me or is this true?
Ive also noticed there are not many options to decks. Only a few viable options. For example ive really tried my ass off to get a hard hitting spell deck but again. You still cant get the better of a heavy minion built deck.
Is this the case or is it me...just curious on this because I really like the game but not enough options will shorten its lifespan for me and probably a lot more people.

Like with most CCG you need most if not all of the cards to have options on deck building. And as with other CCG it costs a lot of money to get those cards.
Reading the forums people are saying they have spent upwards of $800-$1000 dollars opening packs to get the full set. I am not sure if this is true but thats whats being said. I have also read about people opening 50-100 packs and getting 2-3 cards they can use and using the rest for crafting dust.
Without some sort of ability to buy individual cards or trade with others you basically have to buy packs and hope for the best with RNG. You can grind out a pack or two a day if you want but it would take a very long time to get a decent deck built this way and with RNG who knows how long.
It seems to me this game would have been a perfect place for a Real money AH instead of D3. At this point its a fun game to play casual but personally I wont be spending real money on virtual cards that can not be traded or sold. I would just go buy MTG cards and start playing that again. At least you can sell / trade the cards you own.
If you haven't, you should watch TotalBiscuts Lord of the Arena series. He uses a lot of different decks and builds and is relatively good at the game.
He does mention often that board control is key, but there are still plenty of ways to win even if you lose at board control, with significant amount of luck granted.
If you keep playing you will get better. When I started I couldn't win a match for the life of me. Now I win slightly more than I lose and still have a way to go.
Anyway, it's not all about minion control, but that is a part of it. The key, I've found, is to not play all the cards as soon as you can but rather hold off until each card is getting it's maximum potential. When I first started playing I just kinda threw things out, then I started looking at cards that worked well off of eachother. Then I started paying attention to board and card advantage.
If you have two minions out there that are both 2/3 creatures. And your opponent has none. Don't play the 5/5 creature that you have in your hand and are able to play, because you have board control. Likewise, if don't waste all your cards, if you have more cards than your opponent you're in better shape. (In theory.) And of course there are exceptions to everything I said, if you're in a tight spot or can do lethal damage.
The other thing I was going to say is, give it time. With expansions and new heroes down the road, there is sure to be more elements, strategy, and complexity introduced to the game.
