I am SO glad the NDA is lifted from ESO... the game is TERRIBLE! Actually not really true I did enjoy the melee Dragonknight class but the caster SUCKS! Normally I really do not enjoy melee at all. The main issue however is that the devs of ESO are incredibly lazy, they refuse to fix anything even things that would literally take 5 seconds to fix. I eventually told them I could no longer test their game for them because it was so bad about that. Why test a game that you out a bug report in for the same thing every week or so?

As for Wildstar.. careful some of you have broken NDA in this thread >.<

Please stay on topic, this is the WildStar section of the thread. We don't need large rants about unrelated games drawing in the trolls.

pretty sure I did since I discuss the main topic and respond to those saying they like ESO better. It is hard to argue the point of Wildstar because of the NDA rules of the site. You can get in trouble for discussing gameplay footage from cons!

Its impressions so its not really a 'review' keep in mind. He reviews differently then he does impressions. He put it in a rather mature way "The game is not for me" and stated what he found good of the game and what he disliked. Bash it all you want but it shows hes not one sided on it. You know, instead of people on here "OMG its made for kids, I'm totally not 12 huehuehue" opinion which makes me face palm seeing so many people afraid of something in fear they would be considered little, you know like how a 12 year old would. You can dislike the art style and be mature about it rather then going on about it being for kids.

Either way, i enjoy Angry Joe a lot. Hes very passionate about things and while I don't fully agree with him on many things (aka this, Guildwars 2 hugely) I still respect what he does and his passion for the art. He puts a lot of heart into his things which you have to admire.

That's my point, everyone has done that quest (FYI it's been in the game for 10 years) why does wildstar feel they need to show us something sooooooooo basic as hitting a mob with an object.

Throw us into a situation were we need to learn this stuff to progress and survive instead of the handholding crap they currently throw new players into, trust me these starting quests will turn many people away, it did me and you'd think as a WoW fanboy id be right at home with wildstar.

Agreed, his MMO reviews are not in depth and usually avoid the aspects of the game MMO players actually care about. He just doesn't like MMOs and typically spends the entire review complaining about the genre instead of the game in the MMO context, and that is fine. MMOs aren't for everyone, and they don't have to be, but a reviewer that seems to just not enjoy the genre is bound to produce some reviews that are just "off."

I'm amused that people take Angry Joe so seriously. As somebody already mentioned, he's a good entertainer and a crappy reviewer.

Anyway, after the gameplay part of video, he was actually very positive about the game.

About somebody mentioning that he wants to be hero from level one, I suggest playing GW2 then. When my character was proclaimed the "Hero of Divintiy Reach" or something, while I was level 2, it made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

From the few reviews I've read, he seems to be more of a MMORPG tourist, more of a console player or what not, so it doesn't surprise me that he doesn't really like MMO gameplay much.

I suspect the viewpoint of a player who is a purist, meaning more focused on MMORPG's might report on them more favorably.

Point is... If he said things that you find factually wrong, or otherwise disagree with for some reason or another, then articulate those things. That would actually be a useful response worth reading; a worthwhile discussion.

But when all you can do is start name-calling and insulting the person instead, all that indicates is that you don't like what they're saying, but have nothing relevant to say in response.

You just ranted for an entire paragraph there, and said absolutely nothing.

This exact thing happened to me. I was crazily excited for the game with all the contents they have promised and it's still there in the game, no doubt in that; But i just can't get myself to play it every time i launch it. The max i have played it at a stretch is probably 2 hours. Comparing that to ESO, i only played it for a weekend but i played a full 12 hours continuously before my sleep forced me to stop. It sucks because i really like the WIldstar Devs who are very open but i just can't get into it.

Tried real hard to enjoy it, i mean there is lots of content but i just cant get in to the game. I think the biggest issue is that combat is just not fun for me. To many telegraphs not active targeting with a corsair. Over sized UI, quest text that you usually dont have time to read or is to little to even make you interested. Almost no voice acting at all, and when you have some its some random stuff that is not saying the same that the quest says. etc.

Game have style, but no immersion to suck you in. At least not for me. Im sure many people will love it but unless things change i wont.

This guy is a bro-tard, I don't understand how anyone can listen to him for more than a few minutes. Furthermore, he shows a shocking lack of literacy skills, as many of the systems he struggled with were literally spelled out for him on the screen. I weep for the future.

As for the game, it does look pretty bad, but not for any of the reasons he stated.

I've been in the beta for Wildstar for a few months now. In that time I got all the classes up to level 10 then stuck with the spellslinger till level 15. After that I just couldn't play it anymore. It just felt too much like I was just leveling another character in WoW. Even with all the differences between the two games I just could not shake this feeling. Maybe it was the art style or the quests I don't know but I realized that this game is not for me.

Indeed. He has a lot positive to say about it. But see, he made one huge mistake... He also voiced criticisms of it. And that is a huge no-no among fanboys (for any MMO, not just Wildstar). You do not ever criticize anything about their game, or they will rip you apart.

He could have gone on praising for 90% of the video. If in the last 10% he pointed out criticisms or things he didn't like, these people would respond as though the first 90% never happened, and the 10% was the entire video. Then they'd start flinging insults at him as though he'd just insulted their entire family.

Fanboys, of any MMO, are the most intolerant people when it comes to differing opinions, and they will defend "their game" against anything that sounds even the slightest bit negative.

AJ's video, and many of the replies in this thread so far illustrate it perfectly.

Just have to learn to identify them so you can ignore them in the future. Fortunately, they identify themselves very quickly, so it's easy to do.

It's like the joke, "How do you know if someone's a Vegetarian? Don't worry, they'll tell you". In this case it's "How do you know if someone's a Fanboy? Don't worry they'll show you".

Im exactly in the same position lol. Got all my classes to lv 10, even got my spellsinger to 20. Just cant get in to it.

Tbh i thought it was just me but apparently not.
