It's too much like past MMO's i have played action combat and having class flexiblity with armor and weapons is just not enough for me to play another sandpark-ish game with emphasis on the theme park. I'd rather play an indie MMO i have to wait longer for that doesn't look as pretty BUT has features i want vs. things i have to put up with. I don't think its a bad game but its just not innovative enough for me personally.
If I went out and bought a new single player RPG it would cost about the same price. This game has way more playable time than something like, South Park: The Secret Stick, or Lightning Returns:Final Fantasy XII at the same price.
Even if I only play it for 30 days I will rack up no less than 100 hours on it. That is cheap entertainment no matter how you look at it!
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
I'm trying the beta at the moment. So far it's not giving me a better impression than from watching streams. It's even worse than I thought.
The clunky movement is the biggest draw back. Jumping is not very precise and you're floating/hovering over terrain makes it feel very unnatural. Not smooth at all.
The third person over the shoulder is very off putting to say the least. Oh, just zoom out until the camera is centered you say? Great idea! Until you get into close quarters to where the camera spazes out. I'm getting to the point I need to look away from the screen so I don't become physically ill playing this game. Not even SWTOR or GW2 did that to me.
Absolutely not! The entire game is pure garbage and there isn't one aspect that does not need improved. Yes I am reserved due to recent history showing triple A titles go f2p and yes I like Wildstar (even though that has nothing to do with ESO), but mostly I will not be playing because everything I have seen and experienced has one thing or another wrong with it. Whether it be a sub fee for mediocrity, poor animations, terrible melee combat, early quest lines that are just run here talk to this person and run here talk to this person, all while running too all I can think is man even the running animation is strikingly similar to Swtor, it doesn't work for me..... I haven't made it to pvp yet but I am painfully working my way there, but I don't expect the pvp to be so wonderful that I change my mind. On a couple boss fights so far 1/2 way through the fights I thought I wonder if I just don't bother to do anything but click my mouse attack, and wouldn't you know I still defeated them. I'm still plugging and chugging waiting for it to get better, but my faith in just that is running dry. Lucky for eso they still have 2 days of my time to convince me otherwise.
It takes way to long for your characters to bend over and get loot
One major positive is the voice acting though - just incredible!!! Best Voice Acting MMORPG award 2014!!! ESO
I already pre-ordered the game, so I'll be playing. However, I played TESO for the first time today, since I was invited to this weekends beta test and I've got to say, the game has some problems. I've crashed already, random game freezings, had to reload the ui twice, and a quest isn't working. That's just the technical stuff. I'm not even mentioning my opinion on game design and mechanics. However, despite all of that I'm still having fun, so I won't cancel my pre-order.
Yes. I've been in the beta for a little while now, and I got hooked during the big AvA beta weekend. This game will not be for everyone, but what MMO ever is?
I just logged into ESO gout out of prison said in chat This game sucks, developers don't take me seriously during last 3 beta's and quit the game.
I am done with ESO they didn't take my feed-back seriously the game is.
1.) Class Locked
2.) Alliance Locked
3.) No quests with (!) like in wow show up on the map where to get them.
4.) No freedom to customize/housing.
I am not playing ESO at launch due to these reasons, I tried the game and I might play the game if it goes F2P, or Buy 2 Play, but I am not paying a subscription for a game that is class locked, or as my primary game.
A class locked game maybe for you if that is the case you might enjoy ESO, I don't want to troll other peoples opinions but this is mine and why I am not buying.

Current Games, I am looking forward to and like.
1.) Dark Fall
2.) EVE Online
3.) Albion Online
4.) Star Citizen
5.) Face OF Mandkind
These are all sand-box based games.
Shouldn't you wait until the game actually launches?
1.) Class Locked
What game isn't? If there are any they are very few and it's not that much of a problem not to play a game because of it. The classes may be how you described but armor, and weapons can change an entire way you fight.
2.) Alliance Locked
Again, almost every game is alliance locked or it's hard to fight the same faction. Try walking a Tauren into Stormwind
3.) No quests with (!) like in wow show up on the map where to get them.
Just because the symbol has changed from ! to some other symbol doesn't change the meaning of it. This one you are just being silly about. This is a game of exploration that comes right from the ES games themselves. You will have to do a bit more than be guided from quest to quest like a sheep.
4.) No freedom to customize/housing.
And this one I don't understand at all. Customize what? The way they look physically? The game has one of the most detailed CC I have seen in any game. Is it gear? You can make your own gear and it looks different!
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
I would pay $15 with no sub fee for ESO and not much more than that, so my answer is no. You could pay me $15 a month to play WildStar and I'd still say no so I'll be skipping that one for sure.

How many AAA games of any genre have released for $15? Even South Park The Stick of Truth is $60. Do you live in 1970?

Seeing as I'm being dragged into ESO beta this weekend. I thought I'd come invade your boards. Haven't seen this question specifically asked yet. So here goes.
I have not invested myself in the Elder Scroll series. The animations seem very clunky. The game features "realistic" graphics which translates to 50 shades of brown and uninteresting to me. It at least had a nice trailer.
All in all. I do not at this point in time see myself playing this at launch.
I dont get it...you WONT be playing ESO. You already made your mind.
Dont tell me you'll change your mind later, because at this stage of BETA all the features are in place. Launch is a month away, there is no miracle patch and/or drastic changes in bound to change your opinion. Which translate, WYSIWYG up until launch.
No, I tried the beta , played to level 3, could not stomach the combat, I know its really early, but really don't like the feel of the game. Nothing really grabbed me, and to be honest with no real end game, don't see the point.
i'll be playing, i'm a sucker i bougth the imperial edition, will i be disappointed ? After playing the beta two times, i can say i had a big / huge level of expectation from an elder scroll game, so yeah, i'm disappointed by what i play during the beta, and i will eventually regret my ce preorder in, like 2 to 3 months.
I have no illusions about this game not being able to deliver better animations / graphic assets in the future, they are stuck with a very bad engine rendering textures and lightning pretty badly to my taste.
(actually i may ask for a refund and use that money to pay for diablo III Reaper of souls, it's funtastic and i'm having a blast with diablo III at this time, waiting for Archeage later, hope trion will not goof.)

Nope, I just don't think ESO is a good enough game to pay for. This is a cruddy remake of Skyrim with some really poor PvP thrown in. The beta is just awful, everything wrong with the genre basically. But the game is decent quality for all for all of that so yeah i'd give it a rating just above I'd only play if it were free, certainly would not pay standard retail for it.
Now more than ever am I wishing i had gotten into the wildstar betas. ESO is not winning in points with me, played the beta for a few hours and the game is giving me a headache so bad. Not impressed so far, but as most will say its still in beta for right now. No i dont see myself playing this game when it finally comes out, unless it changes alot.
I bought the game a while back but it so very much true that the game grows on you slowly and becomes far deeper the further you go. The first 15 levels may take some time but you certainly learn a lot and also see the mistakes you make the more you learn about the game and systems. The good news is that right around this time you can easily get to the next zone which offers character resets. You can actually get there earlier in the full game but may need help getting to the shrines.

Seriously, WildStar is the worst MMORPG I've ever played, I wish you had gotten into beta just so you knew not to spend a cent on that awful game but you are lucky you didn't have to endure that awful game.

i think you should head on over to wildstar since that seems to be the colorful art style you are looking for.
me personally i cannot stand that kind of crtoony shit.
oh and ive answered countless polls like this, not going to do it again.
Whilst the OP clearly does not like your preferred art style....did you notice they were able to refrain from labelling your preference as shit.....unlike yourself.
Obviously anything that you don't like automatically becomes shit....interesting.

I should have waited to vote...
Now that I have actually had a few hours to sink my teeth in, I will definitely be playing. I way underestimated this game.

Not interested.
No big reason.

After playing this weeks beta - i uninstalled it from my Hard-drive.
The world looks primitive. The gameplay is horrible. The characters looks horrible. The story is meh.
I am not going to go in to any more details, since I see no reason to waste anymore time on this game.
