ESO Phasing?

david361107david361107 Member UncommonPosts: 279

Been in beta this weekend trying to run with friends and really having an issue with the phasing. We can be together and one or the other just poofs away. If this going to be normal because currently it's a bitch to group and run with friends and it's really what I wanted to do this weekend. Is there a way to phase to your group? So what's up with this Phasing in ESO? can someone help? or you point of view on this phasing stuff. It's really awful.

Peace

Biggest issue right now.... And the only major issue that doesnt seem to get developer attention..

did two major posts on this... One topic with a choice based solution...

another topic with a dynamic comtent solution..

people in a group getting not to the same instance/ phase is a bug.... Thats still there... Its strange that this seems so hard to get right, almost every new mmo has these kind of problems...

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

The only way is to be on the same step of the quest as them.

Though there are some instances you cannot be in the same phase as your party members/friends at all.

In other words, if you want to continue playing ESO: Get used to it.  As the supporters of this game would say.

No it's won't just not be me getting us to it but tens of thousands of others. This would make this game a total fail. I understand not being able to group with friends on a special quest or solo dungeon from time to time but what they are doing here is just wrong. It turns this game into a solo game with grouping only for dungeons and pvp, which would really suck. I hope that it is just a bug or something.

It's not going to change, phasing is built into the whole megaserver system. Any change will come with a future expansion it is what it is until then.

Even with the megaserver system.... The problem is that a group should never be split over several  phases..

just program that a group allways go to

    a) the groupleaders phase

    b) the lowest phase by one of the goupmembers ( making taht in the end all groupmembers finish the quest)

or c) the first player that enters the phase/ instance

it ain that hard to build in a priority queue that makes sure groupplayers allways end in the same phase

  • I was never a fan of phasing and wish MMOs in general would use it less.
