I've very much enjoyed this game in all aspect but there is one flaw I feel they need to address before launch.
Alright so I'm not entirely sure how and why they thought this mechanic the way it current is implemented is balanced.
Sneaking in PvP, specifically the range where by you can be detected needs to be increased when facing an enemy. At the moment it's laughable, this needs to be tweaked.
Feel free to add your suggestions that would be a viable option with the sneak system ZOS has implemented.

You're joking right? Compared to the stealth mechanics of any other MMO I've ever played - most of which implement stealth as invisibility - it's very easy to spot someone sneaking if you look in their direction.

Care to tell me how you go about find which direction that is?
It seems a bit ridiculous that they can get slow close to you without you being to even see an outline of their character model.
Not really sir )) it's a great tactical tool to gank unprepared raid or simply by sneaking around and killing people on siege.
yesterday a lvl 19 bow was hiding after our player lane and was killing people on siege.
or for example a 200 raid people take a camp and after moves to castle a small group can sneak around and take if back as soon as possible or to sneek around their sown and kill people who runs back to raid ....
there lot of ways to use sneak
Care to tell me which MMOs do that? WOW, Rift, WAR, DAoC...all of them had stealth/invisibility reserved for some classes and the ones who could do it, could walk circles around you almost touching you and you'd never see them.

I played a rogue in WOW because i was on a PVP server where we was vastly outnumbered by the opp side .. Ill admit that when I first played, it was hard for people to see rogues .. but Blizzard patched it in a bad way .. i was soon being seen in stealth with 5 talent points in stealth by people who where 20 yards away from me, priest would start throwing dots on me before i was even in range to do anything to them .. they had anti stealth pots, and engineer glasses .. many ways to help them see people who where stealthed ..
I think its nice that there is a way to sneak around and make it "HARDER" for people to see small groups .. stop running from one point to another and take your time to see if people are around trying to "SNEAK" in and take what u just flipped ..
i dont think it should be too high.
to be fair, i have NO idea how high that range face to face works in pvp, but in pve i was like "why the hell can't they see me here in the bright light?!" more than once :P
the main advantage of "sneaking" in pvp is still that you dont get a nameplate over your head (if i got that right).
if they'd implement the recognition of brightness on a sneaking process, that would be the best thing i guess, but maybe abit hard to implement so short befor release
ps: ummm... are we talking stealth (invis) or sneak here?
"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!"
I was referring to sneak.

Sneak and stealth are two completely different skills in TESO.
Sneak is basically used for PVE mobs, so you have an option to not agro them and get by. You can increase its effect via medium armor skills.
Stealth is available to nightblades. This is basically an invis.
Sneak is not meant to be a PVP skill as all it does is lower your agro radius, whilst Stealth is a useful PVP skill. If a player turns their camera towards your sneaking character they will see you as they are not mobs with an agro radius.
That is just so wrong.
Nightblade invisibility is a whole other thing that lasts for 2.5 seconds and it is called invisibility in this game. Otherwise why do you think the Shadow Barrier passive would read: "Increases armor and spell resistance by "x" for "y" seconds after coming out of Stealth or Invisibility"
Sneak and Stealth are exactly the same thing. The names are used interchangeably throughout skill descriptions.
It most certainly does work in PVP. And, no it's not just turn the camera and look. There is a detection radius that can be increased with some skills such as Magelight form the mage's guild and can also be lowered with medium armor, nightblade and racial passives.

I can certainly attest to the radius thing. I was beside a friend using a trebuche looking right him and near him when a DK materialized in front of me and my character.
I was stealthed as a templar and I only saw him when he started attacking. Needless to say I defended my friend and managed to kill the intruder. He tried to kill my friend before trying to destroy the trebuchet so we continued our assault of the keep we were attacking.
Philosophy of MMO Game Design
You can bypass battles without being seen by the enemy. You can sneak up on siege weapons and if lucky can set them on fire without calling too much attention to yourself. In exploration you get into caves and dungeons in enemy territory and remain unseen while enemy players do their PvE stuff. etc.
And this for every class.
