Yes we are...
We have 450k unique hits for this game on this website in a single week... Most popular game over the las year had a total of 4M hits... Yes we are officially a hyped game now on MMORPG.com.
thats not a good thing or a bad thing... Its just a fact...
i personally enjoyed playing this game over the last three betas and am looking forward to playing it, yet i realise to see the imperfections that where far from perfect... Lets hope some of them improve over time and others dont turn in irritators... But for now, i am looking forward to enjoy tamriel as long as it longs.

Played the Beta and looking forward to the release, finally something worth playing and subbing to! Lets hope they keep the updates flowing.
Edit: I'll likely play Daggerfall faction, but if I can't settle there I'll play others.

I played the last 2 beta weekends, and there's nothing that will stop me from playing ESO from the first day of Early Access !
Provided the servers don't melt, that is.
The next beta weekend will be VERY interesting, I've a sneaky suspicion that we'll get to play the release version (to all intents and purposes). I'm sure ZOS will make a final push to grab the maximum positive exposure at that point.
I'd probably be slightly hyped for this game if it wasn't for the explorer pack thing. There's a lot I like in ESO from playing the beta weekends but I can't personally ethically support what they are doing with the explorer pack.
Decry me all you want but that my personal decision. But overall it's a well put together game from what I've played.
There definitely is hype. I see it on both sides.
Community gets slightly more aggressive. There is more pros vs cons attitude, and there are often some misunderstandings because of it. Objectivity is decreasing as well.
So yeah, hype is present. Fanboys are flooding in on one side and the nitpickers are trying to educate the rest of us as well :-)
It will be either v0.18 or maybe even v0.181.

0.181 will probably fix the known issues in 0.18, but hard to tell if they just stop there. This isn't a lot of changes over a short amount of time given the fact that most of them they have been working on since January. I want to play this version sooo bad.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the number of 'hits' or 'popularity' of a game on this website depends on the number of official articles written about a game on this website.
Publishers sponsor writers to have articles written about their games, and to have advertisements shown.
Why do you think that Star Citizen is the most hyped, but Elite: Dangerous isn't on the most hyped list? Both games are equally resourced, but the difference here is that the first game has a greater marketing budget.
The last three betas where with the same build.. And identical combat..
the combat just takes some getting used to, but eventually most people will learn to like it... Espescially after they got used to groupplay, PvP and weaponswaps

First game I ever bata and actually loved before it launched.
Are you speaking of yourself or the general notion when we look at other players in this community?
Your mind directs where this game is going. Having from 100 people 1 person saying no instead of yes is an imbalance. This imbalance can take over to 99 saying no and 1 remaining with yes until 100 say no.
It is not that this so called passivity is marginal, it has effect.
So if you want this game to succeed stear your thoughts towards where you want to see it: The possitive outcome in it's endstate > in success.
Everything else is unnecessary, really. We already have enough negativity. Creative contribution or silence.

450k hits and 350k of them are people who post threads about how they're not going to play ESO.
GW2 was hyped. SWTOR was hyped. AOC was hyped. ESO is getting a lukewarm reception at this point considering it's just a month away. You can tell after they invited more people to the last two betas that a lot of people are very excited for it, but it seems to be a heavily divisive game.
I asked in another thread why does this happen. didnt get a response.

The hype is strong with this one!
I mean, hardly a suprise. It's Elder Scrolls and ESO does make quite some things different. I am quite curious to see how it turns out in the long run. I got at least a sense of freshness in the game. Sometimes good, sometimes aggravating freshness, but enough to keep me interested and trying it out.

Yup, same here.
Yes the IP has weight and I really glad they made a good mix of MMORPG with Elder Scrolls.
If I want that Elder Scroll excact feel of it's singleplayer games I either go back, which I can't anymore due to TESO so I'll just wait for the next installement of the singleplayer game.
Don't think this is a game meant for the MMO crowd, but more for the MMORPG or RPG players
