I have been looking for a new MMORPG for the last month and just have not been able to find what I want in a game anymore. I recently left WoW and Guild Wars 2 and have been looking endlessly for a good MMO with awesome PvP. I've see all the most common MMOs at the moment such as Tera, DC Universe, Rift, SWTOR, and Neverwinter too name a few. All of these games are good but, in my own perspective, they seriously lack in their combat systems. They just don't feel as smooth or interesting as Guild Wars 2 or Allods Online. Which is why I've come here. I feel like I've seen a majority of the MMOs out to date and I just don't enjoy any of the combat systems.. I'm looking for something similar to Allods. I don't care if it's high fantasy or low fantasy, the only thing that matters to me are smooth controls, fluid combat system, and awesome PvP. Can anyone suggest something? Please don't recommend any MOBAS, FPS, or anything like MechWarrior Online, WoT, or EVE. Purely looking for MMORPGs.
Thanks for any help!

Give RIFT a shot, it's completely F2P all the way to level 60 and I found the battleground PvP to be quite fun and refreshing. It plays pretty much like a WoW clone, but don't let that deter you as the soul system is much more in depth than WoW's classes/talent system and gives you a lot more freedom over your character. If you end up not liking the game, you have lost nothing as I said it's F2P.
This is from a level 60 Warrior R52 and level 60 Mage R66. I have a decent amount of experience with RIFT PvP and I enjoyed it quite a bit before I took a break recently.

I gave Rift a chance for about a week and though I wasn't formerly turned off from the game persay, I didn't quite look forward to playing or have a great time following the lore. It just seemed like a really repetitive play style and generic.. That's just me though.
What I really am looking for, and I should have emphasized this more, is just smooth combat and controls. Something with Guild Wars 2-like reactive times to controls and smooth fighting system.
If you want something different from the WoW paradigm, The only options are TERA, GW2, or wait for ESO. ESO plays like a more fluid GW2 and is heavily PvP/WvW based. There are no battlegrounds though. ESO releases here in less than a month.
There just isn't another MMO out with a combat system comparable to TERA or GW2 till ESO comes out sadly. Also, my apologies, I missed where you said you had already tried RIFT in your original post. My mistake.
You could try Darkfall, I have never played it personally, but have heard it's fun for the PvP heavy crowd. It is hardcore PvP I believe, even to the point of allowing other players you loot you after you die. I don't know much about it though, so take this advice with a grain of salt.

Well you can't really compare those 3's combat system they are all different from eachother. Having tried all 3 I would say Eso is best and it's suppose to end up having more tactics/strategy than GW2's 'hit 5 skills that are not on cooldown' combat.
I think I got an ESO beta key to give away but it's not always up and currently it's down. Eso uses phase shifting like WOW cataclysm did which means it's not really a complete open world till endgame.
Also sorry to say but the graphic art in ESO (imo) just aint as good as Skyrim. The models looks alot worse and sofar that desert area where you start looks really bland to me.

Look no further - select the link above - it's far superior to anything you will play. If this was your go to mmorpg, then you picked the best one and unfortunately for you, it will also have ruined everything else. It's just that good and everything else is just that bad.
Or..... pick another genre - that's they only way to kick wow
