Lineage 2 EU (or even NA) - State of the game

I'm thinking about trying to get back into Lineage 2. What is the state of the EU server? I live in Europe so probably I should be there, however I could try the NA one if it's more worth it. Please enlighten me about how many people play the game (approximately) in those servers, as well as about the difficulty of leveling up now. I'd prefer to hear it from someone who plays the game at the moment but everyone is welcome to help me. Thanks in advance.

    Bump.
I will probably try NCWest, Naia server. Any info on activity? Someone to guide me to endgame in case I reach the level cap?

I dont know how the server is doing now, but there is a guide ingame (in their website somewhere) that already tells you exactly where to go and gives you all the items (armor, weapon, soulshots) that you need to get to level 85.

"State of the game is game over" - I burst into laughing tears the moment I read that.. Is that so? I guess I have to kill my nostalgia for this then. I just thought that with sufficient people online maybe I could reach the point in the game when you take part in some sieges. But the way you describe it I may have lost interest way before that point.

Going to a siege with a sub-par character was always a stupid idea in this game. You'd need like at least lvl 95-96 to be viable in the siege, given the ZRanger users doesn't lag the server out. But if you still consider L2, I'd suggest you to go to Innova's L2EU. The lag at Naia (atleast for me) was killing it. I was even paying BattlePing 9$ each month to get decent ping at Naia. And then Gw2 released and I stopped playing L2.

Same as Naia I would guess. Active community at high levels, ghost town at low level. Every low level toon you see is probably somebody's alt. And nowdays the newbie buffs are making you almost fully buffed. And then there's the mentor's buffs. You basically can run fully buffed with 2 hour buffs in official server xD

But atleast there are no ping issues.

NCsoft made smaller game world, with many bugs, disbalances, and unplayable areas, less customization options, less skills, and quest grinding instead mob grinding. The result is good MMORPG if we compare to other games, but no so good as original Lineage 2.

I've played L2 less than a month ago and I have no idea what he's talking about when he says there are lots of bugs, with unplayable areas. I haven't encountered any big bugs, much less anything that makes the game unplayable. And I've played a main and a subclass up to 90.   Less customization?  I don't see how he could possibly think that. Everything that was in the game before is in now in regards to customization.

He is correct on the quest progression part. At least up until about level 80. Then it begins to transition back into mob grinding. Upon reaching level 86 and doing your awakening quest, your entire skillset changes.  You do have maybe a couple less skills, but you become much more powerful.

The unbalanced classes are nothing new for L2. It has been like that since beta. I've played Beta - C4 and then again recently. So I'm not surprised that the unbalanced class thing is still an issue.

Yes, the early game doesn't have many players, but you won't be spending much time there at all.  You'll hit 40 in a matter of hours... Probably 4 or 5 hours.

Use the "Path To Awakening" tool on the L2 website and it will give you free gear while you're leveling. Otherwise there will be no way for you keep up with the gear requirements of leveling.
