right in the middle above the news feed there's a box you can change to "repair" run that and when its done it might fail again but hit play and it will work fine.
I wouldn't worry about it. These games are so big and TESO is a huge name just be patient they will fix everything in time. Don't you remember in WoW? Fear use to fear me threw the game map and I would fall and fall forever...... That wasn't fixed till WoTLK and I experienced it in vanilla.
had exactly the same problem..my advice is do a complete uninstall followed by install, worked for me.even after using repair the client just froze then crashed .make sure you get rid of folder in programme files x86(zenimax) just to be safe
I had that error this morning. I just ignored it, hit close and hit play. No issues, I got right into the game. I though it was just for the info on the loader screen. No info was showing in the news section. But I could play the game no problem.

well i tried repair and it didn't work, got the same error and the button still says update not play so I am stuck.
Think I have to uninstall and redownload the whole 25gbs?
Just keep trying that. That's what I had to do and I walked my brother and friend through the same thing, and it worked for us 3.
