They would if /bug wasn't bugged...
I'm not making that up either.
Thats what the beta tester forums are for, but maybe too many folks are too lazy to actually go there....

You have to be test group member to have access to the forums, most playing the beta are probably only using promotional keys.

They wiped the forums a few betas back and started pushing people to use the /bug feature in-game.

This i did not know. My mistake. Now that is a little bit crazy, unless it was intentionally disabled.

From my experience, given the timeline until launch it isn't going to matter much either way. This game will need one hell of a zero day patch that's going to cost coders some serious man hours. They might be able to get some of the stuff ironed out, but not this much.
This weekend it would have been t more efficient way to report the quests which are NOT bugged.

I can still hear that dev saying in that 1st announcement trailer say:
"We combine 15 years of all the best mmo's and put them in ESO"
I think they took the worse elements of those 15 years of mmo's and put them in ESO.
The pvp was awesome tough !!! but its those little things that totaly ruined it..... I was a bosmer archer and every time i pullled the strings of my bow i coulnt tell for the life off me what i was shooting or if i even hit my target....
The bugged quest and starter zone dint concern me that much realy. But the whole animations - oldschool UI elements - Interface - bugs - Imperial Edition mount gear and race locked away behind a 80 euro collectors Edition made me not buying this mmo.
Even tough the WvW was the most fun i had in recent mmo times, its just those issues and greed from this studio that turned off many potantial players.
In the overall scheme of things, the game only seems to have 'a few' quest bugs, but those bugs are affecting a huge number of people/quests:
- non-respawn of interact-able quest objectives. Crates, traps, boss mobs.
- non-despawn of interact-able quest objectives. (e.g. defend minion X - if you don't defend X, the minion hangs around whilst the attackers despawn [or I assume that's what happens]).
I assume those are less obvious on the PTS, but they are rampant on the "live" servers. (this is also faction-specific, I found 2 blocked quest chains for my Nord character but ~10 on my Breton). [both could be worked-around by having the server check the state of those quests every N minutes]
Outside of quests:
- game pauses for 10 seconds.
- the EU megaserver re-patching.
- horses despawn.
- 'UI says crash'.
- PvP (e.g. the nightblade teleport ability, used on someone passing through the gates of a keep, takes you inside the keep).
[etc]
It's certainly the buggiest MMO I've played in quite a long time, and this stuff *should* have been fixed before that beta/preview weekend.
From a PvE standpoint this weekend I experienced issues concerning grouping (phasing), getting locked in crafting, approximately 8% of the quests being either impossible to finish or having been designed in a way where they were easily disrupted by other players to an extent where they might as well have been impossible to finish, sudden minor lag spikes (5-15 seconds of load time at random apparently unexplainable intervals), conversations or visits to a merchant that wouldn't "close" so I had to quit the client and start up game again.
From a PvP standpoint I experienced a type of PvP I did not enjoy so I didn't play it. I have no problem with that, in my experience there is always content in a MMO that I don't play or use all that much.
Whether or not it's worse compared to last beta weekend I honestly can't say. I feel it's the same kind of bugs I experienced the last time around.
Was my second Beta Weekend - played <2 hours. Hate being forced to start with the sword. Starter Island is boring but i want to complete it first so i have fucking done it. Envirinmental Lighting was better situational but pretty often it is depressing instead of being impressing - who the hell did that lighting? Some Animations were worked on. UI Bug making UI unaccessible periodically. Foreign Language Translation still incomplete. Etc.
Game still does not catch me...
"Torquemada... do not implore him for compassion. Torquemada... do not beg him for forgiveness. Torquemada... do not ask him for mercy. Let's face it, you can't Torquemada anything!"
They can thank God there is no other MMO launching right now. It was what prevented SWTOR from becoming an even bigger disaster. If Everquest Next would have launched now, ESO would tank faster than the Titanic. But since there has been nothing new for quite a while (and Wildstar seems to be in difficult waters themselves), a lot will try it out because of sheer boredom. (Like myself.)

How were you forced to start with a sword...you get to select your weapon from the racks.

Thank you sir for giving your money over to a game that you seem to detest.
I havent seen any of the most obvious and re accuring bugs been fixed over the past few months, like getting stuck when speaking to an npc /reloadui is not a fix, and oddly a first time ever in an mmo the opening of a the options menu has broken.
Every beta weekend I've been in for the most part has had a big patch claiming hundreds or thousands of bug fixes have happened, but I've got to tell you, I'm experiencing more bugs this weekend than perhaps any other. An ungodly amount really and many of them are serious bugs. Lot of people talking about this on the beta forums and in game too. It's concerning. I've beta tested a lot of games and only a couple come to mind that seemed to have this many issues this close to launch from my memory and things were equally as rough at launch for those games. Add to that the last minute starter island skipping decision that doesn't seem to be going over well with people and that's another issue they need to sort quickly.
You can tell yourself "it's just beta" if you want to, but I've played enough betas to know this isn't all going to magically get better in 2 weeks. And a lot of mmo's over the last couple years have launched a lot less buggy than what used to be the norm (RIFT, ARR, Neverwinter, even SWTOR) so having a really buggy game at launch isn't just excusable anymore. I like the game quite a bit but I'm a realist here - I think we better brace for a rocky start. And for a game that has already been the target of endless negative media and attention, I don't think they can really afford a super buggy launch.
Personally I think this game needs a few more months in the cooker, but I'm sure it's too late to go back now.
always fun when people read the patches from the intern phase and expect em to happen ON THE FUCKING STRESS TESTS.
for the record, what we had THIS weekend was the patch they announced like a month ago, if you would have actually read, you might have noticed. if you wanna be a realist, read the propper patchnotes

I give them a chance, for the sake of Elder Scrolls and because of the good stuff. If they use the chance is up to be seen. But I am a generous person. I always give second and third chances.

Thats been removed. You are now forced to start with a sword as the weapon rack no longer features in the game at all.
Did not play the beta this weekend what is the reasoning behind that?

actually 2 weeks ago they announced the features people had asked for werent going to make it into that beta because they were still being internally tested.. read a page or so back, i linked the client version number, this weekend was pretty much launch client.

There's 99 bugs in the code, there's 99 bugs in the code. Take one down, compile it all...
There's 127 bugs in the code.
^ Pretty sure that's how Zenimax feels.
Doesn't matter much to me, still had fun. All that matters to me.

I feel for them (story of my life too). Hi to the devs at ZO and good luck people - must be a nightmare debugging this!
I cant log in now and I think they are full, where is the megaserver they bragged about.
I will buy the game but are not impressed with zimemax anymore.

dont stress, your PTS license is safe seeing as you never had one in the first place...
V1 will be the launch client the game is still running on 0.xx
and if you wanna get super technical, this weekends build exactly as per my game files databuild stamp is 0.win.0.live.892348
so yeah, your argument is pretty invalid.
