What progress you talk about?
Setup an office, purchase an engine and make couple videos? Biggest startup ever..?
There is no open book. You have no idea what is happening in their office nor you have any insight into a development process. You are just fed with whatever Roberts says, regardless of actual state of the things.
You have no idea how far they are from delivering anything of what they promise, or even if it will be implemented at all. And even then, it matters how it is actually implemented, it can be still miles away from how they portray it now.
Do you have any concept of the scope of this project?
Unfortunately I do. They showed nothing more than anyone can achieve with CryEngine SDK...youtube is full of such videos.
All they are delivering are promises, heap after heap.
You could have just said you don't know. Look, if you want to criticize the project, at least watch their development videos or read into the interviews they have been releasing. It seems pretty obvious you've only seen trailers at this point or something. Otherwise this is just airing ones baseless doubts on the net and there isn't a point to the conversation.

How about hire over 200 people. Set up departments that work together. Completely modify the Cryengine so successfully that Crytek actually rolls it into their next release, mantle included. Build a sound development studio complete with orchestrated music. Set up fan contests like TNGS. Show and use all the latest game development technology. Real actor facial and movement modeling. VR support. AI from one of the best AI developers there is.

You obviously did not watch all the released content available.

Could someone please show me a video of this amazing game that's going to blow EvE out of the water?
I don't mind if it's in progress.. just something that shows potential other than words from the developers mouth.
I saw the dogfighting video and it looks horrendous ;/
Also, how will their engine work with thousands of players in one battle?.. if that's not possible, then why are you even talking about competing with EvE?

Really....how many of your last 30 posts had anything good to say about any game other than Eve.
There is the internet you know. and this site called youtube.
I don't just play EvE... I'd welcome any good game that fits my tasting buds.
Instead of pointing to Youtube, please show me a video that shows the potential of the game. I simply can't find one... which doesn't mean there isn't one out there... hence why I'm asking.
Also how will the CryEngine cope with thousands of players in one battle? You never answered that.

The game isn't even in Alpha yet Cryengine will have Mantle and the new Nvidia OGL extensions that will make it equivalent to DX12. That gives it a much higher capability than other engines. The scope of battle will not be thousands of players, at least not initially.
It is a Flight sim model. It can't really be compared to EvE

Inability to meet deadlines is indeed a solid reason for doubts as it means big resources waste, and in that case, more money only means the develoment is more expensive and/or some features will likey won't make it into release.
If this game will have the features that it has on paper, it will be huge. It's pointless to argue if the game will be only promises or if it will truly be the epic it aims to be, only time will tell that, none of us are far seers able to see into future. Sure it could flop, or not, pointless to toss around guesses at this point.
I'll stay optimistic meanwhile, too much whining and doomsaying already.

I agree that they can't really be compared.
One is an established 10year old game that's still evolving... the other is in alpha with hardly any footage shown.
They're also completely different games that just happen to be in space... yet people still try to compare them. I was trying to point to the fallacy in doing so.
As far as the engine is concerned, I'm sure CryEngine and those extensions will make it look very pretty... but I'm more interested in how epic the battles feel. It seems to me they're going to be using heavy instancing which kind of removes that epic feel alltogether. Anyway.. thanks for the info.

So if you agree, why did you open with 'Show me the game that will blow EVE out of the water'?
I played EVE for 8 years as well, so I do understand the EVE gamer. We go in swinging but bringing my NBSI mindset to forums seldom accomplishes much.

I did, but there is no "content" to speak of, nor any worthy information, all is vague, general talk and marketing fluff.
Prime example is the Mooncolider video - no details, all they say is that they are working on AI. Well, all game devs work an AI...
Why in the bloody hell are you bitching about a game not even in Alpha yet......
Any mmo worth its salt should be like a good prostitute when it comes to its game world- One hell of a faker, and a damn good shaker!
alright, exactly, the title which release is almost half a year overdue and wants 400$ for a buggy incomplete alpha..................LOL.
with 10% of the budget of Star Citizen............................ LOL.
Total fail, they didn´t just miss some milestone but the whole release date.
Just stay with Eve, please. No one will harm your title.

SC = action packed space sim
EvE= more a space RTS
Now now, no need to stretch the truth.
$320 for alpha, that includes all alpha/beta/gammas, main game and all expansions etc etc
10% of community raised funding, frontier have a large amount of funding from investors.
