Compare WS and ESO for me?

Cuppett5Cuppett5 Member UncommonPosts: 156
I'm thinking about purchasing WS because I'm not that impressed with ESO after playing Beta. Has anyone played both betas and give me a comparison between the two? Thank you.

I played both betas and i prefer Wildstar by a mile. But dont take my point of view. Others will like TESO more. Different tastes different opinions. The best i can give you is some videos to check on your own:

I have and I must say that for me, Wildstar is a much more fun and entertaining game. If I was an Elder Scrolls fan, I am sure I would have enjoyed ESO more, but as it was I found it quite bland. If you can get a hold of a beta key for Wildstar, get to level 20 and hit the first dungeon, it really is a blast.

After playing both betas I prefer Wildstar

I tried both and planning to play both.

However, If you have already tried ESO then you know by now that is heavily PVE based MMO quest grinder. Same goes for Wildstar but as far as features are concerned Wildstar has more stuff to do in the game. Housing is lot of fun and very customisable. PVP unlike ESO PVP doesn't penalize its players in terms of XP.

If you didn't enjoy ESO i am sure you will enjoy Wildstar if you like light hearted humors themed MOS.

Don't buy it, wait for a trial or a budy key or something.

Neither of them have anything special you haven't seen in previous titles of the last 5 years or so, and will not grab your attention for anything longer than 2 weeks or so.

Two VERY different games, essentially on the opposite end of the mmorpg spectrum which is why you shouldnt compare them. You could play both and get very different experiences

I much prefer Wildstar because it is more fun. ESO feels like MMO lite. Wildstar has so much to do, at times almost too much. But many people will hate wildstar because of graphics or too many quests. But I love it

Try before buy. I played both i i wont be plying either, but ESO is a better game with better longievity.

WS is the most mind-numbing MMO i have played in 10 years.

Wildstar is for 6-16? Why, because of its graphics? I m 36 having 2 kids and i prefer WS than TESO by a mile. This means i m a non mature person? I like WS graphics as well as TESO ones, but the game that fits in my tastes is WS. Not for its graphics but for many other reasons.

I like much more in Ws the combat style, the new CC system, the UI, the dungeons & raids, the world without loading screens and phasing, the humor, the group quests, the housing and much more.

I don't say TESO is a bad game or every1 must agree with me, but that's my opinion.

Btw do you think if i also like watching cartoons on TV with my sons will make me a 6-16 years old?

So are all cartoony games not suitable for adults or some of them are? What do you think about lets say D3?

    Wildstar:

    • Sci-fi
    • seamless world with no loading screens (except for dungeons)
    • action combat with SMITE-like targeting
    • PVE: both small scale (shiphand missions, adventures, dungeons) and large scale (raids)
    • PVP: both small scale (duels, battlegrounds, arenas) and large scale (warplots)
    • housing
    • server wide-auction house

    ESO:
    • Fantasy
    • world divided with instancing, phasing and loading screens
    • tab-target combat masked with targeting reticle
    • PVE: small scale only (dungeons and adventures zones, not yet released)
    • PVP: large scale only (Cyrodiil PVP)
    • no housing
    • guild auction house only
    Hope this helps.

Why are you telling him not to look at it like that when you are?

My guess is that you obviously haven't played the WS beta and have just seen some screenshots.

You've also pre-ordered ESO and have to justify your purchase to yourself.

I think you also had rice-crispies for breakfast this morning.

That's not true at all. The graphics are more stylized than realistic, but Wildstar is the most difficult MMORPG that has come out in a long time. There are very large differences in the core of these two games.

WIldstar:  Multiplayer at it's core. Difficulty, player achievement, and desire to learn drive the basis of the game. This is all mixed in with decent humor and a LOT of extra content such as an extremely detailed housing system. 20 and 40 man raids, this game doesn't adapt to your skill level, you need to raise your skill to progress.

TESO: Single player at it's core. Very rich lore, focused on providing a path through the game similar to that of previous Elder Scrolls games. If you enjoy voice overs, cut scenes, and being the "hero" just for playing the game, this might be where you want to look. Reticle based combat, and very realistic style graphics.

Both games have fairly impressive PVP ideas. WIldstar with it's Warplots, and TESO with AVA. Neither game is better than the other. They are both options for people depending on what they are looking for in an MMORPG.

I've played both ESO and WildStar betas.

    I prefer WildStar.

One major reason being WildStar has player housing whilst ESO doesn't.

My experience in both games points to the contrary. ESO is full of immature kids.

I preferred ESO. Wildstar feelt more like a F2P MMO with a sub.

And just to stir the pot a little I firmly believe Wildstar will go F2P long before ESO does. :)

Nothing more mature than a game where you play as humanoid cat that shoots fireballs from a staff against skeletons that are more funny looking than scary, while being followed around by your little pet crab or monkey.

Oh, and Death Note? Hehe, i'm sorry, but DN is a shonen anime. It's made for teens (aka, sho-nen). I liked the series, really, but the target audience isn't much higher compared to Pokemon.
