Oh please God NO, no WOW groupfiner. groupfinders are the best way to make sure you don't have a community...
I'm really, really pleased with the game so far. I'm only level 8 because I can't get past my collecting, crafting and exploring addictions. The world is gorgeous and very well done. I get a kick out of talking to every NPC, listening to some of the dialogues between NPCs and just looking around. Trying to rush feels just overwhelming and I can quickly get sensory overload. Now I just creep along, try to focus on one quest at a time and drink it all in.
I've been very surprised at the quality of questing. I know that some hate it but most of the quests I've done have been well written, keep you doing things and at the end, you feel like you've been part of a little story. At least I feel this way. My hubby and I were actually discussing some of the lore yesterday after playing.
I see great things for this game, especially if the developers continue to add interesting things to do. So glad that I picked it up and gave it a chance after my less than stellar first beta experience.

I'd have to disagree. Games where the dungeons are instanced off a group finder is great.
They only other alternative is to make people fully aware of a global LFF channel they can ask to group up in, if the game has one.
IMO they don't need to remove LFG tools to make the community better in MMOs. You have to work on guild/social mechanics instead.
LFG is great for casual gamers. Guilds for the more serious.

I know what you mean about the collecting.
People were concerned that you couldn't pick up anything and everything. Well the amount of time I've spent searching through containers is ludicrous. And to make things worse, containers "reset" with new items every so often. So even if I've ransacked an area, if I go back to it later, I can search through everything again.
If they ever add housing it'll be days on end of gathering and furnishing.

Yah, I'm quite pleased so far. Not a huge fan of the combat, but the focus on RPG over MMO is refreshing. I'm only level 4 and I got 12 hours in already.
I gotta agree 100%, I have to admit it though...I'm a fanboy now XD. Servers just went down for maintenance and I'm already having withdrawls and thinking about what I'm going to do next when servers come back up lol
Okay I liked this game in beta, but I'm absolutely infatuated right now, I haven't had this feeling with an MMO since the first couple years of Vanilla WoW. The addiction is back and it feels so good.
Only reason I'm even posting is because I had to come to work, otherwise I'd be glued to my pc right now, I didn't move for the last two days. I'm 32 but feel like I'm 8 years old and it's christmas morning.
That being said I'm doing my best to not fall into fanboyism, but it's so hard. Anyway, I'll see you (those of you who are playing) in game, cheers!
same here,in beta i was really whatever about the game. even preorder and canceled my preorder at one point. But I was pretty bored of all the other games out there so figured pre order again maybe play a month or two til wildstar drops. Now i'm like damn gotta log into eso gotta log in gotta log in!!!!
Absolutely loving the game, which I knew I would. Been playing since Sunday and I'm only level 7 because I'm hooked on the amazing exploration this game has to offer. I've found exactly 14 treasure chests already on Bleakrock Island alone, and keep filling up my inventory with crafting materials then going back and creating new and useful items. Not often does an mmorpg come around that rewards you so much just for exploring, I love it. Don't blast through the game like that one nutjob who's already level 50 because you're going to miss all the great things, plus now he has no one to play with. But what I'm REALLY excited for is for my physical imperial edition to arrive. I've already got it planned, I'm going to make and enjoy a huge meatloaf dinner the day before, and then dive headfirst into that awesome lore book while taking the biggest dump of the year.
Yeah... dont think I have been this into game since daoc.. all the signs are there. Scary stuff. I already liked this game alot in beta... but quit it because I didnt want to get attached to my characters too much knowing that they will get wipe.
I have played since sunday now... work and other rpg-stuff has hindered my efforts tho .
Annoys to know that next time i get to play is tomorrow evening after gym... today most likely will have to pass :P
Right now, ESO is the MMO to beat. I think what made the biggest difference is they listened. They listened to what we had to say and took it to heart. They deserve any success that comes to them.
Me and my friends have also been addicted for the first time in a long time. I even snuck out of work to play a little today. Only level 11 and focusing on PVE for now. Did a lot of questing, two anchors, one small anchor or fissure or whatever they are called, one public dungeon and one instanced dungeon (BC). Having a blast. Biggest challenge I have is figuring out what to do with my skill points and if I chose the right class lol.
ONLY NEGATIVE, the gold spammers are out of control and creative making it difficult to block them, but hopefully Zenimax will get better control over it. Its expected with every new MMO.
There are still some bugs, horse dismounting too much, etc, but compared to other launches this has been EXTREMELY smooth, no queues, nothing. I love the game so far.
