Overflow servers not functioning correctly
Max level players in less than 24 hours
Emperor crowned in less than 24 hours
Item duping rife
Catastrophic failure of account security letting players log their account in and access YOUR toons
Broken phasing still causing problems
Non starter Guild economy with 25% sales tax
Still many players encountering game breaking quest bugs
The first 48 hours of head start looked so promising too
I could probably let most of the list slide but other players accessing YOUR toons is HUGE. This is a massive security loophole and is simply unacceptable. The game should stay down until the can GUARANTEE this serious breach is fixed.
If there has been no "hack" and this is being caused by Zeni's OWN incompetence then thats even worse!
Either way, such a massive security risk means I will no way be purchasing the game, even if they fixed all the other problems in the next 5 minutes!

Whats your source on this "Security loophole"?

Are people really logging into other players accounts, accessing other people's toons, whatever? That's a weird one.
This might be caused by the 3 day headstart with more people logging in, since i've read very bugged quests, smooth launch, etc, at first.
On one hand you are talking like you've played the game. On the other you're talking like you're just repeating what you've heard on the forums. Which is it?
Because I can tell you, having played the game since the 5 day early access, my view of the game is vastly different from those viewing it from the outside. Also there's very little known about the facts behind people logging into other's characters. I've read about it on reddit, but that's about it. No one knows how many accounts were affected, or what caused it. I know tonight my g/f and I made many characters and logged & re-logged into the game all day & night long, never once did we log into someone else's character.
So I'd wait for some facts before getting all melodramatic about it. But then I just reminded myself I'm on mmorpg.com, so carry on.

The system message went out about them disabling in-game mail, my client crashed, and when I logged back in I was in SOMEONE ELSES account. I was completely in their account and on their character.
My username was @Shankerz, I could talk to other players, trade his inventory, everything. I was kicked out when he logged back in shortly after.
Upon logging in again, I was back on my character and account, but I had the other player's inventory still.
This is a pretty insane "bug" and needs to be looked at ASAP!
Edit: Only screenshot I took on the other person's account http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=f0ytc0&s=8#.UztUsPldV66
Edit 2: Just to clarify, I have absolutely no idea who the dude is whose account it logged me in to. He isn't in my guild, isn't on my friends list, anything - in fact, he was much higher level than me and on a completely different faction"

This doesn't sound like a quick maintenace at all, my precious.
Fuzzy wuzzy was a bear...
Your "source" is a post you copied and pasted from another thread by another random user on these same forums? Interesting....
BTW, there is absolutely no evidence that this is any sort of actual security risk. It could be as simple as miscommunication between the login / authentication servers and the databases.
No...my source is the links to screen shot evidence and the link to the reddit forum post where the issue is formally acknowledged by ESO support staff.
Whereas your source to counter this very real and serious security problem is....?
I would say there was no hack, no one changed my pass word. No one accessed my account, because they have a email for me when my ip changes that sends me a email. But when i came back yesterday, my account was banned for gold something, that I did not do. So they def messed up, some one got access to my toon. Or they just randomly banned me.
They also wouldent help me, prolly because 100s if not 1000s of other problems lol. I no longer play needless to say, good thing i got my money back. I agree with you on the 48 hour thing, I was impressed, but it all went down hill after the 2nd day.
So if I log in to my account and get access to your toon and delete all your items and gear, you do not consider that a security risk to the account you pay money for?
Zeni I am sure, are praying there is no impact on billing and/or bank account details...
I don't think you understand what an actual security risk is. Most likely, if this has been a widespread issue, there will be a rollback to restore any possibly lost items, etc. The only thing at risk right now is pixels which can be recovered.
A security risk would be if you were able to access my personal information, account details, payment information, etc and continue to have access to my account. As I said, there is absolutely no evidence that any of that is at risk. Considering people are entering their own account information and getting into someone else's characters, it is more likely to be a server / database miscommunication issue or something along those lines, not account security. Simply a glitch in the system, not a loophole that can actually be utilized to continue to gain access to accounts or other information.
Source: Personal and work experience, having some freaking common sense, and not needing to blow every detail out of proportion in a video game.
so your source is nothing more than your own personal opinion and blind hope? Gotcha.
Even if nobody is financially at risk which is assumptive right now, its simply not acceptable that peoples game accounts are put at such risk. Particularly given the poor levels of customer service that many people are describing.
No, that's not a security risk. In fact, you don't even own any of those virtual items, or even the client on your hard drive. Zenimax can, in fact, delete EVERYTHING in your character's bank, and not even offer you an explanation. You agree to this when you log into the game.
A security risk would be someone accessing your personal information, which cannot happen by logging into your character.
Ya, this is a credible source. Reddit is full of scholars and world leaders.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
I can attest to trying to log in yesterday around 2pm est and have it tell me I was already in game when I had just woke up and was logging on for first time.
Thought it was just another of the countless bugs, but who knows maybe someone was on my account.
2. We dont know how this may or may not pan out. If zeni are too imcompetent to keep my toon safe why should i not fear for my personal data too?

Despite what you are saying it's labelled as "security" (not by me!). I'm tempted to say that someone who can impersonate you is in a pretty good spot for "social engineering".
Is that all you have? When at least two people in this very thread have confirmed this IS happening?
Lol...
Other than Rift, this has been the best launch I have seen in my gaming history. Indeed it is a smooth launch.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
I have played since launch and not had any of the issues you are talking about and think you are just a TROLL! The only bug I have encountered was that on a couple of quests the NPC voice was in German instead of English although the written account was English. Hardly game breaking.
Don't forget people who cannot even play the game:

My opinion is my own. I respect all other opinions and views equally, but keep in mind that my opinion will always be the best for me. That's why it's my opinion.
LOL comparing the perfection that was Rift launch to this hot mess is nuts.
Granted the first 2 days were not horrible, the server load issues of day 3 have totally broken the game.
Sorry but on day 3 of Rift it was still running smooth as greased silk.
Kinda surprising in the way ESO displays half of your log in information in game. Normally the gold farmers just run their list of usernames and passwords from other games. Now they can narrow the list down and hack more efficiently.
I imagine in game mail was disable due to the ease of hacking and looting of your character it provided. This coupled with some of the other account crippling bugs is going to overwhelm their poor customer service reps.
