Not sure what you mean? How are mega servers supposed to stop the need of a rollback?

ZoE mentioned that having megaservers will alleviate launch day issues of the past.
Seems not to be the case.

As for roll backs, Servers seem to work ok during the beta stress tests which would lead us to assume its something to do with the server load. One of the Features of a "megaserver" cluster is to distribute the load by creating new virtual servers?

I think you might be confusing what they said, what they said was with overflow and their ability to add new hardware to the game, they wouldn't have a problem with server loads or queues. That has nothing to do with bugs.

ZOS_JessicaFolsom Administrator, Moderator Thank you for the reports, everyone. We're tracking down this issue and will get it fixed as soon as possible.

    Yep, disgusting response from Zenimax.

Seems to me they're working to resolve the issue. Anyways, enjoy your time in WildStar, I'm sure you won't encounter any bugs.

That response is TWO DAYS after it was reported. Yes, white knight, that's disgusting.

Bugs are bugs, clown. People can deal with bugs. What I don't deal with is lost time. Rollbacks are not bugs, they are game breaking issues. I'm sure the threads above could use a white knight of your stature. Head on over there.

Bye, can I have your stuff?

Haven't had any rollbacks btw. Sorry you are frustrated with it. Welcome to the release of any MMO ever, good luck with your future endeavors looking for a bug free MMO launch.

So what are they supposed to do Einstein then take entire servers down and shut the game down because a zone is having issues? What if they havent been able to figure out a fix yet? You people and your knee jerk reactions know nothing about how video games are made and have zero patience for anything at all.  People are not white knights because they have much more patience than yourself and do not bash a game based solely on post launch bugs and server issues. This game has had a smooth launch regardless of what you have to say here. Ive been through MANY and I mean MANY launches for games and this one is one of the smoothest. If you are seriously that impatient about fixing bugs and issues wait a month and come back or better yet go do the wildstar launch and have fun bashing that game as well on their launch date and weeks to follow as ALL games have some sort of issues at launch when you let hundreds of thousands of players log in all at once.

Wrong response, companies should not be launching games with bugs. I don't buy a new car and expect it to constantly break down over the first month with the manufacturers saying 'oh, we are just fixing a few bugs'. Game developers and producers need to stop using customers who have bought the game as beta testers, this should all be done before launch.

Your first sentence shows that you have zero experience with coding and software development period.   Do you freak out every time Microsoft releases a new OS?   If not you should be because even they can't release software without bugs.  Keep dreaming though maybe one day you won't have these. Ought ares and the world will work as you think it should.

I don't buy them when they are new because they are mostly bug ridden pieces of crap as they don't test their software either. Yes, you are correct, I have minimal coding experience. I do have a lot of experience of being a consumer and I do expect to get what is advertised. It seems your expectations are lower than mine, perhaps you are solely to blame for every bug ridden MMO released too early.

You're right, rollbacks are not bugs, rollbacks are responses to a bug. The fact that they are rolling back frequently means that they are troubleshooting an issue, and they are catching the issue.

As far as wasted time goes, I'm assuming you didn't play in the ESO beta then? Or any beta for that matter? Since a beta is, inherently, a waste of time, since your progress is wiped at the end.

In fact, every single game that makes you restart a level or from a checkpoint  (so 99% of games out there) are a waste of time by this logic.

I haven't experienced the issue myself. Are they doing entire area rollbacks? Or are they doing single character rollbacks? I haven't even been on since the patch, so I might get lucky and miss this altogether.

That because car companies don't tell people about the issues till its to late. Case in point GM on the issue with the ignition switch.

Cars are recalled all the time where is your out rage for that?

Anyway I hate to say it but game companies today dont do open betas anymore for a month or 2. this probably would of been caught if they had done one. I feel bad for the folks having all these issues. I will say I have been extremely lucky played 15 hours on sunday and several hours everyday since and have had maybe 4 bugged quest and only 1  had to abandon cause I could not complete it. the others are now complete.

In 15 years I have never played, even once, a game that launched without bugs. Just counting the ones I can remember is over 30 MMO's. The first 6 months are rocky for any MMO imo, RIFT didn't start shining till that mark, WoW didn't go nuclear on subs till after the 6 month mark, LotRO was REALLY buggy until ~6 month mark.

It seems to be a standard.

Agreed.... but some are worse than others.

Logging into someone elses account however is up there with the worse bugs I've ever heard.

I agree. This bug takes the cake. Never played a MMO with such a serious security breach on 3rd day of release.

Personally I agree they should have had an open beta, by most reports it looks bad. That's where my agreement here ends, there's no "fanboing" in what I see going on here, what I see is people correcting statements made, or offering their own view of what's going on.

The fact is there are people who sensationalize issues or points, and there are people who try and bring things into perspective. That's 90% of what people call fanboing and hating. Both sides of the debate fall into one side or the other depending on the given subject. Those who like a game sensationalize the good, those who dislike a game sensationalize the bad so on and so forth, there are some who basically stick to the center on most things. Outside of these three groups stands the troll. Best way to spot one? They come in ranting about fanbois, haters and bootlickers.

So your insinuating it's not true? What part of Zenimax offering beta access for a pre-order and using beta codes as promotional and marketing tools is untrue? Don't you think an extended beta that is open to all would be more effective in "simulating" launch day issues?
