Honest Beta Impressions!

 

What is going on everybody, I was part of the closed beta as many of you were and I wanted to talk about this game for a while and a video demonstrating some of my thoughts in gameplay came to mind and that video linked up there was brought forth to the world!

 

If you want to watch the video, here are a couple points I made that had me going nuts about this game!

 

  1. Very fluid combat.
  2. Great character immersion!
  3. DAoC PvP style is amazing!
  4. Guild system and crafting makes this game unlike many others, I love how unique everything feels!
I absolutely love this game, I hope everyone gets a chance to try it out!

    Their customer support is literally the worst I've seen in my many years of MMO playing, and I'm not exactly one for hyperbole. 

    They have a lot of customers who were forced to input a code to play their game when they were supposed to have extended early access, and they refuse to fix their problem.

    I've contacted their support multiple times for various problems, their password reset not actually resetting for instance, and each time they reply with a generic useless forum letter that proves without a doubt they didn't read my problem.

    2.  I have seen and played much better games that will immerse you, this one not so much. for example - Skyrim, a real Elder Scrolls game.

    3. Ok - I will give you this one,  and really this is the strength of the game and if Zen would embrace it and play on the strength more rather than trying to say they are an ES game, they would have a decent game here. Play on the strength Zenimax - just come clean and admit you made a DaOc remake with ES skins, it's ok, it really is, this will fix alot of complaining too.

    4. New game nostalgia - it's running rampart.

     

    Really going back to #3 - If Zenimax focuses on the pvp, uses it's resources and future developement for pvp, the game actually could warrant a monthly fee. I know I would actually buy and play it then. Just need them to commit to it. Come on Zen, it's your main event, it's your breadwinner, your game isn't finished yet, it still has a ways to go, focus your resources on Cyrodil pvp and own up to not really grabbing the essesnce of an Elder Scrolls game, but rather adding onto the Elder Scrolls legacy with a tribute to Elder Scrolls lore and Daoc warfare.

    Explain to me how their customer service is good.

     

    my character is level 42, his main story quest in the harborage is stuck at level 15 point. When i finished it there was meant to be a confrontation between lyris and abnur and she punches him in the face, i'm meant to watch this happen. I had finished it before they released patch 1.01 or whatever the first patch was where they had 14 hours of downtime.

     

    When i got to the bit to watch the confrontation the game booted me back to login screen for no reason, when i got back in no conversation would take place and abnur is bugged out and cant be spoken to... i put in a bug report about this about 6 days ago now, because it happened very early on.

     

    i recieved a reply from TESO customer support telling me todo /reloadui and if that didnt work log off and back on and if that didnt work log out for 10min and try again.. basically instance hopping, but this is locked to my person instance so no amount of that changed anything. for the past 5 days i've been going in every couple of hours, it went through a patch and 14 hours of downtime, it went thought the "going live" patch and downtime nothing has resolved this issue.

     

    4 days ago my ticket was getting escalated to next level tech and in 4 days i still havent heard back... this is literally a game breaking problem. I cant abandon the quest to roll it back, i cant do anything and i cant progress into veteran levels properly and continue on with content without completely my main storyline quest. This is literally the worst customer support ever especially when it comes to a LITERAL gamebreaking bug that is going to affect me being able to continue on and complete content in like a day or 2.

    which means you think #1 is not an opinion. Which then means your lying now, because the combat is not fluid.

    Just because I didn't make a video of that topic doesn't mean I can't have an opinion about it, from my experience I really enjoyed the combat!

    Yes,  I seriously am astounded by how awful their customer support is, it is LITERALLY the worst I've EVER seen!

    TERA launch their reps fixed my problem in the first hour, and my friend who wasn't given an early access key they gave her one, FFXIV's reps fixed my billing issue really quickly.  

    I'm honestly blown away by how utterly inept these people are.

    to reiterate my point... i finally got a reply from them about 20minutes ago, after spending 45min on the phone with a CSR and then him asking me to email a screenshot for him to forward onto a higher level tech support... in response to the screenshot and everything previous i get this.

     

     

    clearly the best customer service ever.

     

    That is after 4 or 5 emails back and forth between customer service and a phonecall... it's like they reset it back to the original standing

    Well their 12 year old customer support, def is not = win. I really like the game, but as for the customer support they need to stop paying those people money, it a waste. The people you get on the phone, when you call their number, or use their call back, can do nothing. They can read you the stuff you can find on their web site lol, but they are def a waste of money. You get better and faster responses if you just email them.

    The people that can do stuff, wont talk to you, or i as of yet have been able to get into contact with any one that can do something. Other then tell you stuff on the forum, or tell you they will direct the question to another department that one cannot get in contact with.
