Some people will never be happy.
For me, this has been one of the best launches I can remember. I haven't seen any incompetence, just a few bugged quests. I haven't been rolled back, had the game crash, or any of the other "big" issue.
Some people certainly won't be happy, the ones that are having major problems. In our guild there are a couple of people that have lost use of their 'mains' (of significant level). One logs in and is constantly falling the other everything is completely dark (wierdly just on his main). Sure it will be fixed but they have every right to be unhappy.
Then of course there where mail losses and dupes that resulted in the servers being offline for the best part of a day in head start. You mention the rollbacks, that was really screwing a lot of people over. Greenshade in the AD was pretty much unplayable (which was a bitch if that was where you had got to in your progression) . And now this 'maintenance' which I suspect is due to the bug which is wiping peoples banks and reseting the number of slots to 'un-expanded'. Nasty.
Some people have every right not to be happy and your asinine comments simply rubs salt into their wounds. I'm delighted you have had no major problems, I have had loads of irritants but on the whole nothing major either (knock on wood). To deride those that clearly have every reason not to be happy is at best naive and at worse cruel. Frankly I'd have probablly thrown in the towel if something like that had happened to me.
I'm sure they are patching asap considering on the AD side at least the first dungeon is bugged. You can't do it at all. What a bad first impression for new players....I know I was severely dissapointed that it was broken as I was pretty excited to do my first dungeon. I have heard of similar issues in other dungeons preventing people from even doing them. I don't understand how people are gonna complain about this downtime. I mean the way it's looking game will be down this evening for me as well, as im EST time. Oh well, I guess I could do something else for a night....god forbid right?
I'm still waiting for the perfect mmo release...no server issues, no login issues...no bugs...and more content then wow. If a game doesn't have all these things I will go on a forum crusade to shit all over it...said most of the babies on these forums.
If only some unscheduled downtime was the only issue. Some people can't play at all. There's a difference between some bugs and not being able to use a product that you paid a premium for
The fact of the matter is that Zenimax has made poor decision after poor decision, not counting bugs. Just because some people aren't experiencing these issues and other games have had poor launches, does not mean people shouldn't be upset. I expected issues, but not to this magnitude.
Incidentally leaving aside the timing of the maintenance the bigger issue that is harder to excuse is the lack of notice. I would have structured my time differently if I had known about this a few hours (or better still a day) before rather than 15 minutes. I am sure many other would too.

Yeah how dare they bring down the server to fix/patch "something" that obviously needs fixing?
Come on man, you're dealing with people on these forums. They could find a negative side to winning the lottery.
Reading incompetence as well.
I'm not annoyed because of server maintenance. I'm annoyed about the timing, and just to make you both look like fools, I can't even play today due to not receiving my physical imperial edition and not having my game code to unlock access to pay for a subscription. Therefor, I'm locked out and clearly not personally upset about maintenance. See, I have the ability to sympathize with people. I recognize that just because I'm not affected, that doesn't mean tons of other people aren't.

Way to make yourselves look like douches.
How so?
I took the day of to spend some gametime in ESO so I am definitly effected.
But I have them rather fix a issue/bugs. Sort of hoping a fix on "Crack the-Last-Water's Crystal"

Seriously? Can you read? How many times do people have explain CLEARLY that they aren't mad about DOWN TIME. They are mad about the TIMING of that DOWN TIME. Meaning, why do it at prime time hours and not during the morning when significantly LESS people are playing ESO?
You know. I have to go to work. Some people just don't understand words.

Well, if that isn't complete proof you have jumped on a hate train for the sake of it I don't know what is...
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
Game is down every other day to fix bugs that should never have made it to release, and on top of that they bring the EU servers down in EU playing hours. Poor service and unfinished buggy producs are becoming the accepted norm unfortunately.

Maybe just maybe the developers didn't have the patch ready and tested several hours ago?
Wow... just wow... Some people seriously can't take unscheduled maintenance can they? Jesus... *holds hand to forehead trying to come up with an appropriate way of telling these people* Just... just go outside, have fun with your friends and family, or even play a different game for now. Later it will be up and you'll be able to play. It's not like they are taking it away permenantly. It's just a little bit of maintenance, even if unschedules and placed at a bad time for some of you. It's not the end of the world.
Actually prime time for a mmorpg is after school or work not during the day from monday to friday but after school or work from monday to friday.
In the morning or in the night is when maintenance should be done. That is exactly what they are doing. Yes it is true they don't follow your time zone but hey that is how it is, and they advise what time zone they follow and they wont change it for you or me.
And if you miss work just to play a game, make sure to look at maintenance sched before doing it. And don't come crying about it on a forum you wont get anything form anyone about this personal decision of your. ( If you know what i mean by it )

Correct prime time is after school / work. So why are they patching EU and then US instead of patching the US and then the EU server?
As it stands the EU server down will be down EU evening; the US server down in the US evening.
If however they patched the US server first it would be.
US server down in the morning; EU server down late evening, 9.30PMBST say, 10.30 central European.
Shouldn't be any extra work involved in doing it this way around.
The game has been live for 8 days, you should expect some odd hours when the servers go down, If the game were 1 year old then yes IK would also be alittle sore in the eye if they bring a server down for hours due to patching on primetime.
I bought the game and just finished downloading it -- then tried to log in for the first time. And, yeah, maintenance. In the middle of the day. Brilliant.
I guess they'd rather inconvenience their customers than their employees. Awesome.
