I kind of dislike touchpad gaming. Its like my fingers obscure my view and it annoys me haha.
Deus Ex: The Fall has released on Android, and it has single-handedly changed my mind about tablet gaming. The controls are fluid, and the combat is actually functional. The game is a tablet version of the console/PC game and it's amazing. I'm actually going to try Dead Space on my tablet because of this.
I can't speak for any other console style game though. None of the others have really made me happy. I think it's the difference between having a visual joystick that must be used versus just having the lower left side of the screen be used for a joystick, wherever the fingers are touching.
One thing I've thought since DETF is that Valve's weird-o new controller with the two touchpads instead of joysticks might not be such a bad idea. In fact, it might be an awesome idea.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
I absolutely LOVE X-com for the iPad. I have the PC version too (yeah I am a sucker and bought it twice). It is such an amazing thing to play on the iPad. Plus, its a great way to introduce people to x-com.
The quality of gaming on tablets sure has increased significantly this last year! We are actually playing console/pc quality games on them now. I remember a certain Quiz.... something or other guy stating that according to murphy's law it wasn't going to happen. I bet it would before 4 years... had no idea it would be less than a year. Then again, this same guy stated that 3D was too hard to implement, and that the Occulus Rift could never be and no one would back it up LOL He was proven wrong on the first one.... lets see where the OR goes.
To celebrate the release of Quarmageddon, WizKids Games has made Quarriors! free for a week! That means for just $1.99, you get both Quarriors! (normally $3.99 USD) and Quarmageddon ($1.99 USD). Hurry though, as Quarriors! will return to full price on March 20th!(Note: Quarriors! is required to play Quarmageddon.)
I am old school and I think gaming on a tablet is silly
EXCEPT for games where mobility is key like Ingress so something where more than one tablet can interact with each other (not sure if this exists though)
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

it will cost the same as the PC game, $10. Co-founders of FTL studio Subset Games, Matthew Davis and Justin Ma, recognize that for a mobile game, this is a "premium" price point.
"Presumably the higher price point will make players a little bit more discerning on whether or not FTL will be something that they're interested in," Ma tells Joystiq at GDC. "Which is funny, because we're very expensive on iPad with the same price that's extremely cheap on PC. It could even be the same users that have the different perception of what is a $10 game, just based on the system."

Board games I think would be great if the tablets can talk to each other so that multiple players in the room can play the same game.
Without that the question becomes 'why do I have a tablet to play a board game?'
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
Please do not respond to me
both android and ios do allow for this
- the ios game center
- google's play game services
I've played Carcassonne against people in the same room, Catan will offering multiplayer soon
some games only support "pass and play" which isnt as much fun (comparable to PC hotseat play)
sometimes the app AI suffices enough to be a standin when your friends are not available
