Found this game alpha by accident. This is going to be such a gem when it comes out!

It's an early access game. They tend to be released unfinished (because they are in development still) but they also never get really finished and will be usually abandoned by developers after some time.

Not saying it will happen with this early access game. But I have yet to see one of those games which ever reaches a stable release state.

If you can live with that, have fun.

I have qutie a few games that I had via early access on steam that are now in a stable fully released form.. latest one being War of the Vikings..

Anyway Planet Explorers is really good and getting better and better all the time.. I think I first got early access some time last year before it was on steam... but yeah its worth checking out thats for sure.

Good game but I am not touching it again until beta because it nearly set my laptop on fire the last time (optimization was at best iffy but that was over a year ago).

Been in Alpha since the start. The game needs a lot of polish and optimization. Right now it's a neat proof of concept and has the potential to become something really good. It supports CoOp play and basic "survival" aspects.

    ----

Is it better than Everquest: Landmark? Yes, it has more features and already has wildlife and basic survival.

Is it worth to support them during early access? Yes, if you like Voxel based sandbox games.

Game needs alot of polish, but it still great fun and has huge potential.

Pro tip, dont play story mode until game is launched its not fun right  now and gives a bad impression of the game. Has scripted resource locations (and not that many) a small ass map and you have to deal with sometimes broken quests to get blueprints.

Adventure mode is awesome, npc generated villages, alien assaults,Bosses, store tab that lets you buy any item in the game, all blueprints already unlocked and a 40x40km map with TONNES of resources.

The creation system is unique and top of its class as well, truly fun to make stuff and import it into your game.

It's a great game.  Minecraft killer, no, cuz I think they are two very different games for 2 very different crowds.

I think it's a very under the radar (not even listed on MMORPG.com) game that does need polish, but offers more than any AAA game available and competes with other sandboxes quite well.
