At PAX East this past weekend, Carbine Studios unveiled more information about the much-anticipated PVP feature known as Warplots. Lead PVP Designer Jen Gordy took us through an overview of how the system would work and showed us some of the customization options available for the plots. She called it a teamcentric system, 40 on 40 PVP featuring fortresses that are prepared for battle whilst aloft and then plopped down hard onto the ground to duke it out with an opposing Warplot.

The big problem seems to be the map size. I watched a beta video which showed a match and it took less than 1 minute to go from one plot to the other. I'm not kidding. 1 minute!
Even Alterac Valley is bigger. Battlefield's 64 maps are even bigger, and there's a reason for all that. While the resource power nodes are a great idea, stacking them so close to each other, and the bases, seems stupid design IMHO.
Won't draw too any conclusions before seeing the final product in action, like i'm doing with ESO's Cyrodiil, but i'd hate to see such great pvp potential ruined by such basic design fundamentals.
Looks Simply Amazing!!!

Well, judging by my experience in multi-player games, if the map is big, you have roaming Zergs killing everything in sight and if the map is small(er), you have people camping at choke points. Either way, I'm playing this.
I've been in 5 Warplots matches. It seems small but when you have an organized team any bigger would be troublesome. You wouldn't be able to defend quick enough if it was bigger.
You're comparing other games that don't even play the same way.
I'm not even into PVP and I'm impressed by this! It actually looks fun to me! First time, I've ever really wanted to try PVP in an MMORPG.
I look forward to playing Wildstar this Beta weekend
This looks amazing, after watching the vids now i am all into this thing. omg.
You can customize your own warplot or join someone else warplot with other friends and all or even Q by your self. And it comes in different size of warplots.
And they give you 500 credits from the start so if you wish to try to build your own right from the start you can and by playing more and more warplots you gain credit for each match played. Best of all you can only do them at 50 ( more end game content ).
Basically what everyone has done for WildStar that doesn't actually like (or have interest in) WildStar.
To the OP- this looks Suh-weet! Cannot wait to get in this weekend! Been craving some time in WildStar for two weeks now! I think Warplots even further the point of being in a guild. I'm not a PvP'er, but I'll definitely be losing many hours to Warplots.

Excellent information overall, but the article reads like a sloppy high-school journalism piece. Nobody new to Wildstar will get your "crate" reference without an explanation & you bring up the same Empire Strikes Back scene twice.
Final paragraph:
Warplots are a cross-realm and cross-faction system, so we won't see Exile-on-Exile fighting of this nature, for example.
Juvenile writing for what should have been an easy, slam-dunk article.
