Nice try OP ...this very post shows up in every game forum ...change the names to save the innocent but the style is 100% template
1) I haven't done any research on this game (even though it's been hashed through every site for 6 months ) Should I buy it?
2) Okay I've bought , thanks for the feed back ( a little more negative posts please this didn't work so well)
3)Damn this is shit I ran into this bug ( better get some more negative feed back ,have to set the hook)
4) Well I'm really disappointed now this game is crap ( will get the needed support from every hater on the site )
5) I'm out of here I'm getting my money back this game sucks ( hook line and sinker has worked like a charm ....100% slam )
Whatever.
Check my post history. I have done nothing but praise the game.
And I didn't find anything, I just found out about this bug by going through the ESO forums.
I thought I was a fanboy, but you sir, take it to an entirely new level. You are defending a company that literally tried to cover up their own stupidity while avoiding the problem at hand.
Originally posted by ohioastro This is no longer coming across as a good-faith exercise. If you're sincere, good luck on getting your money back. What else is there to say?
Thanks.
Yes, I am very sincere and very pissed off. I just can't believe I seem to be the only one.
Cause the dupe bug is not worth being pissed off about. Dupers gon' get banned and/or have their money taken away. If you enjoy the game, play the game, there's no global AH so the dupers can't really afffect you.
It was worth for me , buy most new mmorpg and alot of them i have the feeling of i shouldnt have buy that in few days but this is the first mmorpg since years and years i feel engaged with and cannot wait to login. Realy depends on your taste but if you like reading and just enjoy a good told story i think you will like it alot .
About bugs and exploits yes they exist tho overal i think its realy polished since the game is pretty big and most new mmorpg tend to have these problems.
Honestly I am having a blast in game, the story is good, the acting is great, the environments are rich and promote exploring. It has had some bugs, but nothing game breaking, and every bug I have come across has already been fixed. They are on top of the bugs. I feel this game has been well worth the purchase for me. If you like elder scrolls games, you will appreciate this one.
IMO, it's a great game that breaks the mold and I'm really enjoying it. You'll get all kinds of mixed feelings on this board, if you really are on the fence, I'd recommend checking out some Twitch.tv streams of gameplay footage and see if it fits your style of MMO.
I have already gotten my money's worth in entertainment out of it three fold.
Currently Playing: ESO and FFXIV Have played: You name it If you mention rose tinted glasses, you better be referring to Mitch Hedberg.
Game is awesome. What started as just a co-worker and I morphed into nearly all co-workers in my department plus a bunch of their friends, lol. All spreading by word of mouth. Formed a nice little guild and just tearing it up in PvP and crafing like crazy. To each their own, having a blast with the game. Best immersion I've experience in a long while.
There are two types of themepark MMOrpgs in my book: the Orwellian 1984 themepark which includes the jackboot on your neck; an exmaple of this style of themepark would be Star Wars the Old republic.
On the other hand there exists the benevolent themepark which includes vastly more freedom and options -- Elder Scrolls Online. However, in pvping through Cyrodiil one can easily imagine ESO becoming a majority sandbox at some point.
As it stands the best themepark isn't an ideal mmorpg in my opinion. If you become bored with a quest line, for example, and want an alternative way of leveling, a way of leveling around the quests, then you're out of luck basically with the best of theme options.
However, at best you're inveribly forced down some else's quest line. As for myself, Grahtwood, for example, bored the hades out of me in ESO; I cannot begin to describe how I wanted an alternative to that area.
Strikes aginst ESO:
1) It requires the leveling system, which should be 100% defunct in modern mmos.
2) Despite the innovation and freedom of exploration, realistically you'll still have to follow the quests -- there is no way around that fact. Theoretically you could level through Pvp, but realistically it would take far too long.
3) If, like myself, you want to pvp to maximum level you'll need to adjust your expectations because pvp quests do not give enough points.
If you love a primarily sandbox mmo with a measure of themepark then you might want to wait for Everquest Next.
I don't regret buying ESO but the leveling system makes the whole mmo lose its luster fast. I am the type who like to do things MY WAY and with massive freedom of choice, which is why I love primary sandboxes and SOE.
I see you're already regretting your purchase on another thread the dupe one. You should have let this thread run for at least a couple of days instead of buying the game after an hour. Well take some comfort in knowing the game will probably improve in the months to come even if you cannot get your refund though you tried getting it back from G2A.
FYI people did level up quickly without quests and there are guides on Tamriel Foundry on how to do it. This is without cheesy exploits, just area of effect grinding outdoor mobs. You/d miss skill points, but you can download addons that tell you where all of them are. You can run just the main faction quest line to unlock new zones, which is pretty minimal in the questing department.
I don't know *why* anyone would want to play a game like this, but they *can.*

Assuming that they even bought it or started the thread in good faith. Losing it over something like the dupe issue so quickly is a massive red flag.

The dup bug should only bother you if you are in competition with other players, if you are, then MMO's are definitely something people should not play. You will NEVER be better then the next guy, accept that and you will love MMO's, don't and you will hate everyone of them.
The best people I have seen play (Those that reach top rank) do their own best and could careless what the rest do, people follow their lead after. Others as myself do dam well in MMO's even in pvp and while pvp is considered "Being better then the other guy", I look at it as "did I do my best?" yup, ... if the game mechanic screws up balance I might have issue, but dup exploits? I could care less, does this allow my foe to get better gear? Maybe, but doesn't mean they are a better player for it.
As long as the base mechanics of the game can't be cheated, I am all good when it comes to issues in MMO's, you have to take them with a grain of salt or as the OP you will rage quit the world.
"The monster created isn't by the company that makes the game, it's by the fans that make it something it never was"
All the good things I said about this game are now irrelevant. Ignore my praise. Had I known about this, I would have never bought this joke of a game.
How does one issue completely eliminate all the good?
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
great theme park but I am looking for sand box in future.ESO is great but we are spoilt and looking for more[sand box]
I literary got a head ache playing wildstar beta now,so mush crap on the screen and the one mission I finished flashed the whole time go and free the soldiers whish I did. cannot support this crap wnnne be theme park for 10 year olds.
if people can make better cars every view years they must be able to make what the public wants, better open world games.
who are we to say if it will be good for you or not..dont be a sheep..go and decide on your own or go watch other people play it on twitch...you cant waffle all this time ..sometimes you just gotta decide

Originally posted by Skorgan Best graphics, best sound, not bad fighting system - but there is no fun, Im so sorry, but im totally bored (I play since early acces and beta). spoken dialogues idea - biggest mistake ever. In my opinion, of course.
Best graphics and sound? You obviously never played Guild Wars 2 or The Secret World. Both those games are a lot sexier visually AND audio wise than Elder Scrolls Online, however TESO has epic gameplay, and i can see myself being hooked here for weeks.
Will I resubscirbe? Probably not, if I beat the game anyway. But just like The Secret World, I will renew my subscription with every new piece of content.
Throw your wooden PC through the window, and buy a new one, because as I see, you play on low graphics settings, and you haven't any idea how this game looks like. I'm guild Wars 2 player (from beggining) and fan - its very nice, and artistic game, but TESO has far more advanced engine and features (but not on your wooden shit of course).
I don't blame anyone but the devs. Sent an e-mail to G2A to get my money back. Lets see what happens.
I am sorry brother but you should only blame yourself.
You asked for honest opinions and you got it. You were repeatedly told that game is full of bugs but you went ahead and bought it anyways. You were warned.
I just canceled and am seeking a refund, so I can't recommend it.
I love the game, but I'm unable to continue doing business with ZOS. Too much of what I've been seeing from myself and others matches the symptoms of "battered person syndrome" a little too closely for comfort. Best to get out of these sorts of relationships early and maintain distance.
I'm hoping the game and its management will get better soon, but after what I've been through, I just want to get my money back and get the hell out.
No, fellow players and former players, the game's issues aren't your fault. You are not the problem.
Your Mileage May Vary, of course, so if you don't mind a little gambling and potential psychological trauma, by all means give it a shot, and if you like it, stick with it.
Whatever your choice may be, stay healthy and have fun!

Stickman1979 decided a day after his original post to buy the game. And now with no more than a day played he is not sure he wants to resub. He has also only joined this site three days before he made this thread.
Also he did another thread here going on about bugs on the same day he was supposed to be playing:

Yes, it is.
End of honest opinion. I'll Ignore the rest of the OP's 'opinions' because they really have no grasp about anything.
Two weeks in and still not banned.
Seriously?hahaha
If you think eso is an mmo then you havent played any true mmo games yet my friend.
So to begin with.
Start by playing some dark age of camelot.
Then jump to eve.If you can make it.
Then come back to talk about the difference between mmos and wanna be mmos.

Great mmo, but your asking this in the wrong site.
There seems to be 900 haters and trolls for every player who likes mmo's.

Short answer - no.
Long answer - No, but come back when the bugs are fixed, the exploits and duping has been fixed and the economy has stablised.
Longer answer - No, come back when it's free to play because as it stands, the monthly fee feels like an ass raping of the player base.
I am sorry brother but you should only blame yourself.
