I really like the game, but trying to pretend it isn't buggy as hell (even if you have been lucky enough not to experience them) is disingenuous. Don't you love the posts where someone is quick to say 'what bugs? never happened to me so obviously its a trivial issue' or 'it never happened to me so it doesn't exist'.
Such desperate attempts to downplay thebugs even when they are fully aware of these issues (hard to escape reading about it in guild chat or in game zone chat). Gotto love the acting though.
its easy for me when i have zone and guild chat off and i am apparently one of the lucky ones that have not had any major bugs happen to me yet.
not saying they don't exist but i will say that people here grossly exaggerate the state of this game overall.
pretending that this game is a buggy mess is just as cancerous as a fan ignoring what bugs there are.
Resubbing. I've had many quests where people seem to give up and call that it's bugged but then i hit Google for the quest..find out what's up and do it.... All I see are jaws drop and chat go silent while people rush to finish the quest after me. >.>
This was made by old school mmorpg artisans. I think many people have forgotten how to problem solve since many of the newer games hand you the answers. imo
Both my partner and I re-subbed for 6 months. I have already got more game time / fun out of this than some other duds (single player games) I have purchased in the past.

When I do come across a small glitch, typing in /reloadui normally fixes it...another "Old Gamers" trick

A part of me actually takes comfort knowing I'm not just another freeloading a**hole. If I feel a game is worth the price, I don't have any regret in paying for it, even if the price is reduced later on.
To me it's not a question of the money, it has to do with my free time, the time I use for unwind activities and pure entertainment. The game has to be enjoyable, stable, and functioning. I find that six to twelve months is a good timeframe to give a MMO since they are more often than not released in a state that to me is unacceptable and not worth my time.
If the game goes free to play or buy box to play in that time and I'm still interested, then that's fine, if it's not then that's fine too.
The practice of releasing a product that is not ready for market is most prevalent in the MMO business, more so than in the rest of the Computer Gaming industry. As a consumer you can choose to support this or not. I have personally chosen to not support it and that's basically it. YMMV.

Actually it's common in just about every business. It's just gaming nerds are more prone to outrage over inconsequential things.
Ford recalled 400k vehicles on April 8, 2014.
OSX Mavericks is full of bugs, that's en entire OS, not just a game.
How often do you hear about food recalls? When a video game has bugs, it's irritating. When food is diseased or dangerous you can get sick or die. How's that for perspective? March 7, 2014 35 states issued a beef recall.
Banks even did it with people's houses! They automated the foreclosure mechanism and people who were up to date on payments lost their homes.
Remember the Firestone tire recall? 6.5 million tires, 46 deaths and hundreds of accidents linked to tire failure. ESO might be buggy, but I don't think anyone has died because a boss mob wouldn't spawn.
People waiting for it to go F2p are living a pipe dream, this is a quality game good luck with that, cheapskates.Don't hate on games cause your parents refuse to pay your subs
Other - I think it's very much worth a sub... Granted you have the time to play it and the patience to invest past the surface of the MMO mechanic. It's very rich but after playing ESO for some time I have decided that I enjoy the single player games far more.
This is because when questing in eso it's like going to the park where everyone is walking their dog - sometimes the quests are completed for you just by showing up after the last player completed it.
And the community within the game is horrible because of the megaserver ideology. I like having the option of a RP server etc.
There's a lot of depth within ESO but the limitations built around the console system prevent further exploration and ambient interaction with the environment.
And while there's more depth and quality than other mmos, things like fishing are lacking and enchanting nodes look unnatural amongst the terrain.
Very cool, I know polls here should be taken with a grain of salt, but if they even have 25% player retention as this poll suggests, it will be a healthy thriving game!
Currently Playing: ESO and FFXIV Have played: You name it If you mention rose tinted glasses, you better be referring to Mitch Hedberg.
Not gonna buy it. I just couldn't get into the game. Perhaps due to all the bugs and frustration I experienced during beta. In my opinion, I think the game was released a tad too early.
Beautiful game though and it did feel Elder Scrollish to me.
This is the first game in a long time that has been able to capture my full interest. Honestly, I get off of work, take care of what needs to be taken care of, log into the game, and... next thing I know it is an hour after I usually go to bed and there's a ton of things I still want to do.
That hasn't happened in a very long time. Like UO pre-trammel long time. So yes I'll be resubbing, for as long as there are things to do in-game. And as things look now, that will be a long, long time.
The above is my personal opinion. Anyone displaying a view contrary to my opinion is obviously WRONG and should STHU. (neener neener)
I would really like to stay playing, the game is quite nice. Leveling takes too long for me to enjoy, really. I want to play AvA but reaching 50 takes so long.

Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.

estimation 500k subs after free month
ive heard people say over 1 million but i just cant believe that for a second
Any graphical, audio, or gameplay restrictions not seen in other mmos but found in FFXIV can be blamed on one thing.
