Of course we don't know what this guy did. We can only guess. In general, I support these type of bans. Too many idiots feel like they can act any way they wish and there are no consequences. I wish more games handed out the bans via the forums even.
Originally posted by Ehllfhire I was banned from the actual game by a forum moderator for my first infraction. Customer service as of 8 hours later has refused to reply back by either phone or email. That is a first . Usually they just ban you from the forums . Mind you if it was something like racism then I would support a ban from the game itself too .
Zenimax do seem to be over zealous on the bans recently they banned people for falling through the world .
This happened to a friend of mine . When I started up a thread about it here Mike Bitton locked it . I have been trying to get him to report this story but he has yet to do so . I get the feeling that mmorpg.com want to protect their advertising and protect certain games by not having too much negative news about them . If that is the case I don't think they have much credibility .
My friends ban was lifted but she wasn't reimbursed the time she lost so if yours is lifted too I doubt you will get days added to your account . I like the game but I'm less and less sure about subscribing to it partly because of Zenimaxes poor customer relations .
There is a different between "not doing anything" and getting banned and "doing something that is against the rules" and getting banned.
Whether he deserved a ban or a slap on the write would depend on what he did. He admits he deserves "something" as he did do something.
So poor customer relations? Zenimax's willingness to admonish players who "actually" break the rules has elevated their relationship with me.
Now whether or not the OP deserves a ban or a warning remains to be seen.

Cmon, hyperbole much? On the EVE forums the OP'd be told to HTFU and you know it.
I support this move fully, act like a douche, get banned from forums and in game. If those are the rules, abide by them, I'm sort of a zero tolerance person in that regards.
Not saying I never break rules by the way, but I do accept the consequences for my actions, nor look for "loopholes" such as "it's only my first time", or "it wasn't that bad"
Come to think of it, HTFU is appropriate in this situation.
Zero tolerance is an idiot's approach to any situation and has led to many, many retarded punishments for innocent or at least not that guilty people [mod edit]
Also the EVE community is much better than that unless you are a whiny bitch about something you had coming to you and considering we do not know exactly the context the OP got banned in some of which may mitigate his transgression to a degree (someone baiting him, TOS abiding flaming him, etc, etc) you are amusing and a clear example of a toxic individual pre-judging people based on the decisions of highly imperfect individuals to begin with.
Most MMOs have in their EULA a statement saying that they reserve the right to ban you from the game for any official or withheld reason with or without warning.
I'm aware they don't word it like that but they are basically covering all bases to make sure even an erroneous ban can't result in legal actions on the part of the playerbase. In some (European) countries there are consumer rights in place that prohibit this practice but not all players are aware of this.

How so? Obviously you broke the rules, you admit to it and they are enforcing it. How is that theft?

Nonsense, sometimes the world is just black and white, no shades of gray necessary. Sure, exceptions should be made when something is clearly stupid, but OP admits he deserves a punishment, he's just pissed the punishment extended to his game playing time.
And yes, I do judge other people's actions, and frequently find them wanting. Learn to behave better, simple as that. Failure to do so, accept your punishment. It's how I live, they can too.

lol, wtf? Arent they bleeding subs? Like a stuck pig? Youd think theyd be a bit more cautious. I do believe you can get banned from in game for screwing up in the forums but itd have to be huge. Like there was a dude in Aion a while back that put up gay porn pics, im sure he isnt allowed near any NCSoft game ever again. The usual troll would probably get a forum ban at worst.
Feel free to say what you did OP... dont need the whole post only wether you were just running your mouth or something way worse. Its ok, you can tell us, im sure most of us have at least gotten an infraction or 2. Im banned from Blizz for calling them incompetent morons during that whole realID fiasco. :P
Since OP didn't dare to tell what he was banned for, I'd guess that it's something serious enough that he completely deserved the ban from both forums and in-game.

What did you do to get the infraction in the first place?

Would like to know also. Nothing to be embarrassed about. I'll go too.
I was banned from the FFXIV:ARR forums for two weeks for calling another poster a "Piece of $#!&" three times....and they were my first(and only) three posts ever on those forums. Kinda had it coming to me.
