Originally posted by Jockan For people that got the $149 Founders Pack that gives you access to Alpha is the alpha open 24 / 7 until beta? Also does anybody know how long before the alpha goes into beta? Thx
Yes alpha is 24/7 and will continue till launch; beta will be in June (maybe) and it will be carried out with weekend events on separate servers from the alpha crew.
I just wanna ask , WHY you buying game for 150 if it will be free to play ?
Wanna test it ? get russian ver and test it
Why you letting them steal our money to play alpha, beta etc ? They should pay us to test their games before it will go live .
I don get it what happend with mmo genre .
Totally agree. Paying for a F2P game beta makes no sense at all. The industry is all starting to go this way. By the time the game officially launches, most of you will already be bored with it looking for your next beta to purchase.
Originally posted by BattleSaint i picked up a founders pack myself, but sadly have been plagued by this loading problem and cannot even access the game. Its driving me nuts cause i had no problem dropping the cash for the game. I am very Jelly of all you guys that are in game already tooling around.
I had a problem with the game crashing at loading screen, then ran it as administrator and it was fine , you could try that.
The error message i am getting is "Awesomium.dll is missing from your computer,Try re installing the program to fix this problem". I have tried removing every trace of the game and installing it again several times to no effect. I also tried tech support to no avail. This is my first time being unable to resolve an install issue with an MMO and its pretty annoying. Im on the verge of trying to get a refund.
Yes its a different game but the DLL should work the same. Heck do you have ESO? It has an awesomium.DLL as well.
WOOT and double WOOT its fixed and im logging in right now!! I hereby declare DMKano a righteous dude lol thank you and good hunting in game. p.s. ive been lurking on these forums for ages kinda cool to be an active user.
Originally posted by Voiidiin Well my wife just purchased this for me for my B-day, so i am super excited waiting for it to finish DLing. DL servers seems to be slow or swamped... 120k a sec.So who else got this 150.00 founders pack and are as excited as me ?
Congrats. I bought it as well.

Maybe you should take your own advice when it comes to ArcheAge.

I simply bought the basic one. No idea how long I'll be playing, so I rather not get too invested.

I started my download a little while ago, and it's downloading at 6.39mb/s. 22+ gig in a little over an hour I believe it said. So, depending on your ISP, perhaps it's not a brutal download for everyone.
I've watched a few videos so far, and that's really the only info I have on the game atm. I haven't been following it at all. But the videos I watched enticed me enough to warrant the purchase. Even if I only play it for a week, with 4 hours a day average, that comes to 28 hours. 150/28 is only a little over 5 bucks an hour. And the chance it might be a game that is a keeper and something fun to play for quite some time, it's a no-brainer.
While thankfully, money isn't a problem for me anymore, I still do not understand why so many are so stingy with theirs. I was poor my entire life until just a couple of years ago. But I didn't bitch about game prices ever. 40 bucks, 50 bucks, then the now normal 60 bucks per game. I paid it all back then, and paid the monthly fees, sometimes for multiple games at a time. I made do, because it was something I enjoyed doing. So many like to whine about monthly fees and such, and to me, it just sounds like a bunch of crybabies who want everything for free, but then they don't like the F2P models either. If you don't want to pay for your hobbies, then gaming isn't a very smart hobby to have lol.
I'll start a thread in a couple of days with my opinion on the game, if anyone cares to read it.
As a level headed poster, who doesn't troll, doesn't often begrudge people for their viewpoints or opinions, no matter how much I disagree with them, and as one who is probably risking a forum suspension to say this:
This thread is full of complete and total idiots.
You send a message to the gaming industry that you will pay $150 not for a console, not for an incredible finished game with a collector's edition containing a lot of extras, not for a finished game at all, not even for a physical copy of a game. You are paying a developer $150 to join an Alpha Test.
And you have the temerity to suggest it isn't anyone else's business how you spend your money? People like you lot are the reason that developers are continually releasing buggy, horrible, god-awful messes of games, charging $25 for mounts, and systematically destroying the value for time aspect of online gaming in general, by happily opening your wallets and sanctioning despicable, base, zero sum monetizing practices.
but basically it is the 3 months subs + $70 worth of in game credits that tipped
anyone who has played on Russian server will know that to do crafting harvesting u need labor points and without patron status the regen rate is very very low.
also free players don't get access to housing so that was one big thinsg for me.

The regen rate for labour points is not going to be as different as it is in Russia. At least that's what they said. Also f2p and p2p players will be able to regen points offline and have both a cap of 5k points.

While yes it is a F2P game, in order to farm and own land you need to be a Patron, which either costs in-game money or you can pay for it with real $. I'd rather pay for that with $ and worry about other things with my in-game money like taxes and what not.
I like collectors items like cloaks and junk, plus the glider, yadda yadda.
MMO genre changed with F2P. People wanted it and they got it. For most games that are F2P I pass, but this one I won't and I have no problem paying money for added benefits.
I can almost guarantee you that a similar if not the same glider and armor will be available in the cash shop at some point. The only real benefit you are getting is a head start when the game launches and a title.
So much angst over how other people spend their money. I was going to go with a cheaper package and just wait til Beta, but I'm seriously considering the $150 package, just because it irrationally pisses people off for some reason, and to me, that increases the entertainment value.

On behalf of sane people: WAKE. UP.
Sure, we are all going to just listen to you, because you are the one perfect person and no one can have different opinions from you. Your point of view happens to be fact instead of an opinion like the rest of us have. You are a super being that never judges and you never lack common sense.
Yes, we will wake up just because you scream, whine and demand for us to do so. Right.
Been playing it 2 days now the more I play the better it gets , love the way you an create just about any combination of skills that you want , and every combination of skills give a different class , I have settled on a Spellsword class which is Sorcery Battlerage and Bard skills mixed , its very cool and cant wait to experiment with different classes etc , and I havn't even touched on crafting yet !
Oh and to all the people butthurt about how we spend our money , we don't care , deal with it

How about on behalf of all of who have decided to buy into the game and spend our money as we see fit ... MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS .... it has absolutely jack shit to do with you .
I'm in. I really enjoyed the Korean CB like..3 years ago. And nothing else to play really atm. Landmark Beta is developing ...slowly. At least this is pretty much a finished game ready to play. Between the two hopefully I can stay occupied until Black Desert or EQN

Thank you.
All I've heard so far is a less polished version of Aion. Hope your reviews are better.

Not everyone paid to get into alpha. I got an invite 2 weeks ago into alpha and I did'nt pay anything so they are sending out invites without paying.

LOL, here in Barrow we pay $7.12 a gallon. and for a gallon of milk it's $11.59.
the fact that we do not even have a movie theater here just goes to show how much more of a value that $150.00 for ArcheAge really is to me.
