People have different views, that doesn't make you an authority on opinion, "the OP's opinion is correct...." You don't need to be a fanboy to have different tastes, and most people didn't share their opinion but rather just found it humorous that it was the OP's first post since he made the account over a decade ago. Just in case you missed that.
the game itself has basically gotten a bleh reception from the gaming community...wow players looking for the wow in space tor tried to be might like it but otherwise its a very mediocre game and yes I played in 3 betas so I have some hands on with the game. artistically I kinda liked the game....it was the wrote questing, lack of actual humor or innovation withing the game that bothered me. if it were a single player or co-op game it would be a lot of fun, as a sub mmo no and no. I actually prefer eso over it.
Today was my first try as a beta user. This game is very very very far from being close to a beta : login issues, UI frozen, reminds me of wow in the beginning. Yet another mmo... Spent about 45 minutes just for nothing. Wrong use of my time. I'll try again someday... maybe...
what's even more amazing is that was your first post in 11 years.
Outside of the initial problems logging into game, which were irritating in the extreme. Nothing else, UI is fine. No issues at all with it. Loving it so far. I paid for eso and oh boy am I regretting it. Wish I had kept my money for this. I am waiting for, the repopulation and archeage, but this is a nice game. Themepark, very wowlike, but polished, looks good, plays well. I like the combat mechanics, the CC break and other bits.
I have to agree with the bugs this weekend but the beauty behind Wildstar beta is each weekend either things improve by 25-50% or they break something and it makes the game very unstable. Can you believe there actually working that hard on their game and patching week to week, but some of you expect this to not be some type of test server condition zomg.... So far this has probably been the most polished beta I've ever seen and while they introduce bugs they also fix them. Wait for release but don't complain because you don't enjoy the game in its current state. This isn't some import game that's just getting localized and you basically see what your gonna get. If you have tried beta and dislike it for any reason other than bugs then that's fine i'f support that.
Not going to lie but I have not given Wildstar any attention, I pretty much just swept it under the rug and was not going to try it. Well I got the invite for this weekends Beta and almost gave up in the starter area.
I am glad I didn't turns out I am having a lot fun, have not found any real bad bugs, and been in a few other Betas lately and for some reason this crowd was a lot less childish. I think I might actually dare a I say this cancel my xb1 ESO and get this game...tough decision coming this summer.
For what it's worth I'm playing it right now and the bug level is quite low, sure there's a few but nothing that will upset anyone. The game is pretty solid, it resembles WoW so much (but better) that you can almost say it's an addon.
With any kind of product, game or not, people come to forums and review sites to complain more than anything. Those enjoying said product are normally out using it.
Other than a few bugged challenges, widespread performance issues (graphics settings make almost no difference), and some UI errors (which I think could be what's causing FPS issues actually), the game is very well done.
Once they get the UI fixed & the game optimized, things should be pretty darn smooth.
AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

Game is better than most mmo's that are out right now (especially eso) But yea this weekend by far the worst, very laggy and fps issues. The previous weekends i have been in were grand, actually last weekend i had a huge perfomance boost compared to the weekend before. But this one i had like 200 ms and wasnt the best experiance. But hells i got dark souls 2 ! so pew pew.

I sort of feel the same way. I mean, yeah, I'm playing a video game and I love video games, but as the time ticks by I just don't find it flying like it did with my preferred MMO's. I literally spent more time talking about random non-Wildstar games in zone chat than playing. "Liking" something is great and all, but it doesn't mean I'm willing to pay for it if I'm rarely or never going to use it.
I did like the ESO beta better too, personally, but I really don't want to buy either game right now.
Must have been a bad weekend beta or something. While I didnt play the beta this weekend, I was in the closed beta for the game and it was a very polished state. Never had alot of issues, crashs, buts, ect. It was a fairly polished experienced back then.
I have played the beta a view times cant anymore not cause of issues cause the game is so average.
if they did not have a sub. maybe I would have bought it but its like when they developed the game they did not think ahead its an old boring concept.
hope this is the last theme park mmo and people can see whats wrong with the pure theme park idea.
you just quest and see others questing and look we only got 4 very hard dungeons for you-what crap!
Man if you don't like really good mmo don't play them. It is nothing wrong with game. Amazing duongeons, adventurs and good pvp. I will pay the sub like a lot of ppl will do, because it deserve this sub nd developers deseve it for amazing work they did creating and now fixing this game. If you don't like content like that please go and play this crap ESO or some other "Something now but so far for being anything good games". Btw Wildstar is nothing like wow or other games. He is a great hybrid of all those average games (Aion, WoW, GW2). All those game are crap and they are really really bad games if you play them for long time, Wildstar isn't. This game is the best mmo ever and you just should play it longer then 30 minuts.
And btw i don't care if this game have any issuse. I report them and i know it will be repair really fast and even with those bugs (reaally serious bugs like when we could change any thing in skill bar of hour XD) is better then any other game.
I don't think you could possibly get more of the definition of fanboy than this post right here. Oh my word
I have found the Beta to be quite stable for me actually.
And the game itself has given me the same feeling I remember getting when I first started playing Vanilla wow, and the combat is fun, comparable to the fun I get when playing in GW2's combat.

WOAH! Two whole bugs! One of which can be easily handled in seconds with a /reloadui command! Stop the presses! Call the President! This needs to go back to the drawing board now before it too late! They'll never fix all those game breaking bugs in a month. RUUUUUUUN!

LOL. But he's right. I stayed away from beta last weekend because I seen posts about this before beta started, I'm glad I dint beta it yet. If they get their act together, i'll beta it a big closer to launch. Who knows this could be my second game to play... but wont find out until I can log into beta to find out. Only other thing killing this is the telegraph system which makes for face roll gameplay like FFXIV Crystal tower, Avatars, ect. Even turn 1-5 was face roll but atleast they did not put telegraphs in them. raids with telegraphs is just one bad idea after another that I'll be watching the outcome to.

1. I'm not defending Wildstar here, probably won't buy it either, nor am i a Carbinemonger like several people on these forums frenetically defend anything that comes from certain companies. But you should play the game before you question it's mechanics.
2. If telegraphs are too much facerolling you can always turn them off, they come with alot of settings in the options. Set enemy telegraphs transparency to max and watch who is instead facerolling you then. If you make it to level 10, try the first shiphand that way.
3. 1-5 is always facerolling, in every game. Show me a game in which someone has problems in the levels 1-5 and i'll show you a player who couldn't make it through the tutorial.
4. In think if the game will run into problems with the raids, it will be related to their 40 man size rather than to telegraphs. If telegraphs wouldn't work in a scenery with lots of players, not only raids but also PvP would be compromized what according to the testers is not the case.

Despite the first post in 11 years, OP is right. I gave Wildstar beta a try last month and had quite the same problems as he describes. Just didn't want to post it because of people yelling 'ESO fanboy'

Unfortunately these are rather common first impressions of Wildstar.
The UI is quite messy and the performance is SHIIIIIT at the moment.
They do still have a month to launch but we all know the tale of "it's only a beta..."
so say we all
I look forward to his retort in the year 2025

Played it several times with zero issues.

Me too, and I say that hating the game itself. From a technical standpoint though it was fine in my experience.

Well spotted, amazing indeed
