We all have been playing trough the first month of this game with all its ups and downs....
First the bad,
-yes there are bugs and problems,
-yes there are evil goldsellers
-yes,the bots camping openworld bosses needs direct attention from the developers...
-yes there have been some serious gold dupes
Then the not so bad, but still needing attention
-yes, the guild interface is sub par
-yes, the auction hall works sub par
-yes, the characters inventory needs many more functions and improvements
-yes some of the annimations certainly need improvement
And now the good
-its fun, i am enjoying every minute of it
-Its a beatifull world, challenging players to travel around and explore
-The quests are fun and have a story to tell, they are immersive and pull you intoo the world (if you dont like deep immersive quests, dont play this game)
-If you play higher and above your players level content, it is quite challenging.
-Group dungeons are fun to play, require a healer and some skills... they look bloody awesome and all have story to tell, they are in my opinion among the most fun group content i played. There are telegraphs and mob mechanics, making smart movement and reactions a requirement for all party members. trough the groupfinder its easy to find groups for these dungeons. And since people have found that from levels 30+ its easy to have both a DPS and a tank or healer build, its even becomming easier to find these archtypes..
-Crafting is done in a smart way, crafteing higher level gear requires so many resources and those resources in general come from destructing lower level gear, this system prevents people from flooding the market with cheep useless gear.. every item in this game has its uses as crafting resources... and while crafting delivers the ultimate gear, it certainly requires a lot of adventuring to get the resources..... for the econnomy, its the best crafting system ever...
-Gear looks awesome, nothing very extravagant yet, but from the start on an enourmous lot of diversity in gear.... yet well all realisticly dark fantasy looking
-Builds and role switching on the fly, which allows players to create multiple builds on a single character, eliminating the need for alts... but also allowing people to sign up for groups and raids in several different roles. Today i play as a rogueish mellee character using spells and mellee skills and stealth, tomorrow i will play a ranged character and all on the same character, from the same poool of skills and passives...
-Eternal leveling. In games like WoW post max level advancement is measured in ilevel and gear based only... this game has no i level, but an ever advancing true level (which is the same as an ilevel for game mechanics) and therefor its much more visible for others... but still finishing certain content will require the right gear, and the right build...
With every new content they add, the max (v)level raises,,.. and there will be new skills and more skillpoints and new gear to support it... Nothing wrong from my view as a PvE player first.. and this is where the game is different from all other MMO? PvE leveling is the prime goal of this game and there will be no true endlevel, but just more leveling content. But then essentially raising the max level every month or so, or even every two months is just an improved version of those games that add a new top level dungeon every 3 months, because with this system it actually shows the advancement.... its a system of eternal advancement...
Sure getting the max number of skillpoints requires to do some PvP too.... but then, leveling fast requires you to do the PvE quests... and here ends my review with the conclusion that if you dont like story based quests with voice overs and story mode dungeons, then this game will not work for you in the long run....
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

I can agree with everthing you said. As a PvP and PvE player (PvP 1st) I wish I could head into Cyrodill for a few days and while have fun not feel like I am just spinning my wheels in regards to leveling.
I've listened to every quest, but now in my upper 40's I am starting to enter through. If I had the option to progress in PvP, I could always jump into Cyrodill and PvP until my quest burn out filters out. I want to listen to the quests and wish I had other options to level when I grow tired of one activity.
With all that said, I plan to keep playing and slugging my way through VR ranks, while supplementing a few nights a week just to go AvA.
One month. With the good and the bad I'm still playing. Makes me think about where I was at one month with the last few big mmo releases....
FFXIV: ARR - One class max level farming endgame. Realized I didn't have any quests to level my other classes so I would have to level grinding Fates and dungeons. Unsubscribed.
Wow - MoP: Took two of my characters to 90. Heroic 5man geared. Started running the raids with my guild that always seems to forgive me for disappearing for years at a time. Ah it's the same. Unsubscribed.
GW2: Two level 80 characters running around WvW and zerging Orr. Realized how....lifeless and bland the game felt after watching the DE playout and be zerged over and over. Stopped playing.
TSW: Rank 13, completed the story, was running dungeons over and over. Unsubscribed.
Swtor: Two level 50s. Did what PVE content there was. Focused on random lootbag pvp. Unsubscribed.
Tera: One class to level 60(?) I don't even remember if that was the level cap. I remember that I started a kill quest at level 1 and continued that kill quest for a few weeks and eventually I stopped getting XP. Unsubscribed.
I'm sure there are some more in there but I can't remember right now.
I've actually gone back an played all the games listed and like all of them(except GW2). But it's interesting that a game that gets so much crap is still keeping my attention and that I haven't "completed" it's launch content yet.
My biggest issue is that I don't know what class I want to take to VR10. I leveled a NB to 35 and rerolled. Leveled a DK to VR4 and rerolled. Now I'm working on a Templar that is in the 20s. Considering it's not an "OP" class I think I like the Templar the most.
Yeah the game is pretty fun. I think the people who arent having fun are the ones who just click through the quests an dgo to quest pointer on the map as fast as they can.
People who are enjoying the game are the ones who are listening to every quest, asking follow up questions, walking to admire the scenery.
Just take it slow, no reason to be max level. You miss a lot in the rush and the game seems worse than it is.
Would be cool if we could jump into Cyrodill
without need to worry about leveling
and have fun.
i don't like having to constantly be reminded that I am not a high level
and that I am forced to not have fun in order to unlock the fun which is Cyrodill...
