ESO 1st Month Report

bcbullybcbully Member EpicPosts: 11,843

No one has beaten the game.

No one has been hacked.

No one is hacking.

Personally, I can't believe how much I'm enjoying the skill system and combat. I also can't believe the number of skills that are bugged.

Conclusion, I'm cautious, but very optimistic about ESO's future. Zenimax has a lot of work to do and they have a great foundation to work with.

/subbed Give me another one.

I'm impressed by how agile they've been in responding to problems.  There is a dramatic drop in the frequency of glitches in things like questing; bots in dungeons; gold spam, etc.; and we're very close to some nice content additions.

This kinda thing makes me shake my head.  Let's all just be ostrich's.

Hey BC, how's Age of Wushu (the last game you trumpeted) working out?  Not so good.  Just like this one.  At least we're consistent.

For the record MODS, this is how you can tell it's a TROLL POST:

    Interesting.
As the guy above stated, all the hack posts.
Also the game is riddled with bugs/glitches.
Players complain about no end game content.
And Iv'e seen multiple threads on how people watch bots farm.
Other players charge overpriced fees to be bitten.

No offence but this trend of thread posts looks oddly familiar.
The devs here are quick to attempt to fix and repair there issues.
But lack the know how, how to run a mmo.

    Cheers.
    not subed never plan to.
Did the beta boring boring boring same of the same old.

The same exact thread posted by the same OP twice? Why the 2nd post? Why not just bump the 1st?

Aren't all your posts "TROLL POST[s]"?  It's so hard to keep up with you guys that follow games only to spread negativity.

2 things we haven't seen yet that we usually see after a month.

    1. No sales/sub numbers announcement.

    2. No announcements of high profile employees leaving ZM to "pursue other opportunities".

So, while we still don't know how well the game has sold, at least we can see people are still keeping their jobs after the launch.

What about the gold farmers that  teleport between harvesting nodes?  What is that considered, if not hacking?  I've never played a game where teleporting wasn't considered hacking.  Hacking has already happened as well, even if it's unintentional hacking.  I'm speaking in regards to people being able to use their login info to somehow log into a different players account.  Many items lost this way, though I'm sure most reported it.  That was during early access.  More of a security oversight than hacking though.  As far as beating the game.  I know what you mean, but I do know that there are many VR10 characters out there and I know that some people have several 50's already.  I guess it all depends on what you consider 'beaten'.  I haven't heard much complaining, but I think that's mostly because ZOS has an adventure zone coming around the bend.  You'll hear the complaints soon enough.

Here we go..... Another positive thread and it only took what 3 or so posts for the usual suspects to start filing in to pile on the negative. Might as well close or delete this thread now.

ESO is such an insult to the IP and to the MMO community in general. It has to be the most amateur effort I have seen in a long time. This is why you don't hand over an IP like Elder Scrolls to a upstart studio with no experience. To even call this game an MMO is just wrong. I hope it quickly fades away and is soon forgotten so it doesn't tarnish it's namesake. I'm sure they will brag about the millions of box sales then be totally silent when the sub count drops to 500k in a few months.

My comment from the ESO forums.

    I'm a VR10 Templar.

    Why I'm unsubbing:

    1. A lot of the maintenances happened in prime time in EU
    2. Countless bugs, which prevents progress and forces you to relog/restart client.
    3. No communication from the staff (it's getting better, at least they post on the forums now)
    4. Imbalanced PvP, most are DK's / Sorc vamp and most top players abuse this, so there's no way to get Emperor.
    5. Infinite Loading screens (mostly Cyro, but also dungeons, teleporting etc.)
    6. Bots
    7. Not enough content at VR10 (Only 3 VR6-VR10 dungeons, only Cyro is fun, but look 4. & 5.)

That's my list, I might have forgotten some.
I might re-sub when Craglorn releases.

Today an Outcast.. Tomorrow a Hero.

Look back through my post history.  You notice the pattern.  I get excited for a game.  Buy the game, and then when I find out the Dev's have LIED to us.. yea I'm a wee bit pissy about it.

I was the ONLY member of my guild to defend ESO.  I said.. this'll be great.  I bought ESO, I dealt with quite a few game breaking BUGS with ESO.  And then, I gave up.

Lately, I'm just tired of people saying that it doesn't exist.  These issues exist and anyone who points them out is labelled a troll.  The sky is blue my friends and the earth is round.  I call a rat a rat and when the game that should have been good isn't, I call that too.

But having Bully come on and post this craptacular post.. AGAIN.. and I've CLEARLY posted evidence showing that it is... why should I have to defend myself?  Mtibbs was doing a great job in the other thread with his rational and thought out quit.  He defended himself.  When asked for examples he gave some.  I gave some of my own in the discussion.  But yet we're forced to defend our thoughts on the game.

This game is crap people.  It might not be in 6 months but RIGHT NOW it's garbage.  I spent HOURS AND HOURS on characters only to realize the GAME was stopping my progression.

At this point, it's safe to assume that they're all liars. I don't completely blame them though as a lot of it is part of the PR vetted bullshit that they talk about for weeks/months/years leading up to release. The only time they become very honest is when all the PR mitigation fails and they know they are completely screwed i.e. Square Enix with the FFXIV debacle, EVE with Monoclegate, etc.

Agree with the OP, for my guild my friends and myself, it has been a good solid release. There are bugs as with any game. There are no "what do I do now" posts on the forums after 1 month like most MMO releases these days that are one month and done.

All in all probably one of the best releases I've seen over my 15 years. Look forward to keep playing it more myself!

    Currently Playing: ESO and FFXIV
    Have played: You name it
If you mention rose tinted glasses, you better be referring to Mitch Hedberg.

My mistake. I thought you were admitting to being a "TROLL" I did not realize you were accusing the OP of being a "TROLL".  I will read more carefully next time.

On topic: I have a VR5, Lvl 35, and Lvl 20.  Haven't hit a gamebreaking bug yet.  In fact, I haven't hit any bug at all in the last week.  I started the 20 this week and even in the low level zones I've seen maybe 2 gold spammers, no bugs, and no bots.  I must just be lucky.  I guess that's unfortunate that am one of the lucky few because I won't be playing past may.

Ofcourse I don't really believe the luck part.  There are a few very active posters with rather obvious agendas keeping these forums active, but if that's what gives their lives meaning more power to them.

I'll quote from my statement on the other thread:

"Let's see.  There were two on one faction.  One was were you were in a grave yard with the multicolored gems that you had to set in the pattern.  It wouldn't let me click.  Reset UI didn't work.  The same faction was this Guardians quest thing where you were unlocking two guardians in order to lock up the spirit/golem you released in the city earlier.

Another faction I was locked out at one of the Queen quests where the priestess' wouldn't interact.  I also remember having issues getting ghosts to talk to me.  (pretty sure same faction)

The last one, I was locked out of the initial instance and that's when I quit."

Now, having read through all of the patch notes, I believe the Guardians summon was the first one fixed.  I don't know about the other 2.  I think the Priestess' got fixed as well.  Maybe.

Mind you, the first quests I speak of are after the village where you're supposed to help heal the villagers wherein only like 2-3 villagers were actually clickable and the rest just stood there and stared at you

I haven't played in a week because frankly I was disappointed with wasting the money I did on the Imp Edition.  (granted I really like my statue of Molag Bal but it's right next to my Defiance bug so it is a bit of a reminder about wasting money)

I have beaten it. I have max highscore, beat the counter and reset it 3 times already.

Now seriously, that's just silly thing to say. You "beat" a CoinOP, not a MMO.

Given there's a thread from a few days ago from you, locking this.
