En Masse Entertainment has announced that the recently announced Reaper class for TERA will be released on May 13th as part of the ongoing second anniversary celebration for the game. The reaper is both a mid-range and close combat fighter wielding two weapons.

En Masse Entertainment, a player driven publisher focused on delivering great games and exceptional service,is excited to announce that its popular action MMORPG, TERA: Rising, is celebrating its second birthday with an all-new class, the reaper, which will launch on May 13, 2014. Launched two years ago today as TERA, the game’s visceral console-style action combat has resonated well with gamers, drawing in over 3 million players to date. The latest in a long-running series of significant content updates, the reaper is set to shake up the game’s now established class base for both veterans and new players alike.

Too bad it's Elin specific. Hopefully down the line they'll make it available for the other races (or maybe other race-specific classes). I could certainly see myself playing again if I could play a Reaper Aman. Other than that I enjoyed my time from 1-60 as a Zerker. Questing was the same old, but I really enjoyed the combat, and the F2P model is pretty decent.

Best ftp model around (along with rift) and the combat is fun. The creep infested community was my only real concern and why I looked elsewhere for a game. Even the humdrum questing is fun because the actual fighting is fun.

If I could get a good group of folks together to play character from scratch with, I might try again, but I really wasn't a fan of the community at large

RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

2 years of development and this is all they could come up with, they must be the most laziest developers i've ever seen "Let reuse a class we already have and then just change the textures and skill effects"

Nothing new or innovative. same old boring Tera.

I'd argue that tera has some of the best combat mechanics. They have also done a bit more than what you have suggested. While I concede that they have not added large amounts of content they have added a few battlegrounds and dungeons. You seem to be implying that they spent 2 years making the reaper class.

You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

Since the game came out they added 15v15 and 20v20 bgs, 3v3 arena, held two BG tournaments andan aren tournament. Released like 15 dungeons and Allainces with the alliance PvP zone. Idk why you think this is the first update TERA has done in two years wangkom.

Nope. You still got to Materwork your gear (enchanting it to +12) for you to max out viability for end game dungeons/raids.

I would agree. For my taste this game has the best combat mechanics.

Elin only? Yeah right. The race I hate the most in that game. Not drawing me back.

Was a really fun game with amazing combat. Too bad it's a mindless Korean grind with a bunch of creepy dudes playing little girl characters.

You're telling me these idiots are releasing a new class but it's going to be Elin only?  My god their development team is dumb.

Well it is the most popular class in Korea, and I guess it is based on decisions they made lore wise. The following was taken from Tera Today:

]From the burning ruins of Pora Elinu a lone shadow clad in a charming Gothic dress emerges wielding a sickle wrapped in darkness. Cutting down with blades like the cresent moon enveloped in darkness so deep to swallow the world she brings strikes down to end the war.

Why has this Elin descended upon us?

The long war between the Argons and the continent of Arborea took a devastating toll upon the natural world leaving a deep scar. Sadness overwhelming her, the queen of Elins formed a resistence against the Argons. Pora Elinu became the supply base for the Valkyon Federation.

Just when they had finally delivered the last supply crate, Pora Elinu was up in flames with the screams of its people. The culprits were the orcans living off the edge of Poporia — We come and we will turn Pora Elinu into a hellish world of madness in an instant.

Queen Rida, while watching the burning spirits of Pora Elinu, was filled with sadness and rage but could do nothing but to evacuate what remained of her people. Days of heartbreak go by when one day a mysterious Elin approaches the queen. This mysterious Elin and her band of mercenaries declared that she would help take back Pora Elinu and said... We are the double-edge sword that cuts through the darkness like moonlight in the night sky.

Not saying I like the decision, but I suppose I understand it.

I don't like the way the action combat is labeled as "console-style action". This action combat has never been limited to consoles.

Elins only.. which mean we'll have to deal with more annoying elins oh god...

So you give your new class a menacing name like The Reaper (with skills with names like Death Spiral) and restrict it to a race of skinny little cat-girls who go 'heee hiyaaaa heeeeeh" when they hit stuff.   Makes tons of sense except not at all.

There hasn't been an eastern MMO that's had any real success in the west and this helps us understand why.

Cool been looking forward to the Reaper!

yes of course... the west only wants to play Hulk-like characters and the east are fine with toothpicks

i don't care, i'm in for the Reaper update...
